Come 1st October, SUSS will welcome Professor Robbie Goh Boon Hua as our next Provost! At the same time, we extend our sincerest gratitude to Professor Tsui Kai Chong, SUSS' founding Provost, who will retire on 30th September.

Prof Tsui has played an instrumental role in transforming us from UniSIM (SIM University) into SUSS. Today, we are recognised as a pioneer of the applied learning pathway in Singapore’s higher education landscape, focusing on the social sciences and upgrading for adult learners.

“We express our deep appreciation to Kai Chong’s unwavering service and contributions to the university during his appointment as Provost of SUSS and wish him all the best. We warmly welcome Robbie Goh as the next Provost and look forward to Robbie’s contributions to shape the next generation of SUSS community to create a meaningful impact on society,” shares Mrs Mildred Tan, SUSS Chairman.
Rayner Loi, SUSS Finance student, believes that individual action is important to tackle the problem of food waste 🍛.

Setting his sights higher, he founded Lumitics, a company that tracks food waste on a commercial scale, aimed at helping hotels and airlines figure out how much avoidable waste they are generating 🗑.

Operating since 2017, Lumitics has successfully reduced food wastage, keeping more than 300,000 meals out of landfills in 2019.

Read more about Rayner’s purpose-driven business venture and how it promotes sustainability here.
From a University reject to the founder of an Edtech startup that makes learning accessible to children around the world, this is the journey of Edwin Ho Yuan Yi, 29, Bachelor of Science in Finance graduate.

For over five years, Edwin had applied to various universities but was rejected multiple times until he was accepted by SUSS in 2017. Empathising with those who face similar challenges in their road to education, Edwin conceived the idea of enabling learning for students in areas with poor connectivity, allowing them to cope with academic demands during the pandemic 😷.

He is currently piloting their product with NGOs and schools in South Africa, Kenya and Thailand. His brainchild has earned him the StartupSG Founder Grant of S$50,000 and he has since launched several social initiatives for underprivileged children.

Well done, Edwin, and Congratulations on your graduation! 👏
