The new Federal Reserve Chair, Kevin

Warsh, emphasized that the main priority remains bringing inflation back to the 2% target, which is still considered a long-term and non-negotiable goal. He confirmed strong commitment within the FOMC to price stability.

He announced a broad review of the Federal Reserve’s framework, communication, and tools. Five special working groups will examine communication strategy, balance sheet policy, economic data sources, labor and productivity (including AI impact), and inflation framework.

Key potential changes include:

Reviewing and possibly changing the Summary of Economic Projections (SEP)
Questioning the usefulness of the dot plot
Ending forward guidance on policy direction
Revising press conferences and communication methods

Gold up 1% on reports that US-Iran was signed

The prices of gold and silver climbed by more than 1% on Thursday after a report claimed that the United States and Iran had already signed their memorandum of understanding remotely, bringing the deal into effect. Traders also digested yesterday's decision by the US Federal Reserve to leave its interest rates unchanged.

Gold rose by 1.09% to go for $4,303.98 per ounce at 2:29 am ET, and silver grew by 1.27% to $68.79 per ounce a minute later. Meanwhile, platinum declined by 0.20% and went for $1,759.05 per ounce at 2:30 am ET, while palladium dipped by 0.63% to $1,319.16 per ounce at 2:31 am ET.
