Oil Prices Jump Over 2% Amid US–Iran Tensions

Oil prices rose more than 2% on Wednesday as markets reacted to renewed military tensions between the United States and Iran. Reports indicated that the US military struck Iran’s Qeshm Island, while several regional countries, including Iraq, Kuwait, and Bahrain, reported incoming drone and missile attacks.

In energy markets, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for July delivery gained 2.01% to $96.35 per barrel. Brent crude for August settlement increased 2.55% to $98.37 per barrel.
