The exploit that was detected previously seems to have continued despite the increase in transaction fees.
The malicious activities are impacting the normal users as they increase the load and congest the transactions.
To combat this, we will raise the gas fee from 1 to 2 GST per transaction for SOL Realm.
In the future we may continue to change the transaction fee dynamically to prevent such malicious arbitraging activities.
(NOTE: transaction fees do not go to STEPN. They go to SOL validators.)

The #STEPN team are proud to announce that after months of planning and testing, $GMT earning for Level 30 Sneakers has been deployed to the STEPN App.
How to play ⚡️
To begin, you will need a Level 30 Sneaker. Next, toggle from GST to GMT earning mode within the STEPN App, which can be done on any realm.
GMT earnings are cumulatively calculated across all realms, so no realm has an inherent advantage.

Similar to the working concept of hash rates in a blockchain network, the GMT earning rate dynamically changes every 1 minute based on the number of users earning GMT at that moment.
Rainbow Sneakers and Mystery Boxes 🌈
In this update, both the Rainbow Sneaker upgrade mechanism from enhancements and Mystery Boxes in GMT mode will NOT be enabled yet. These features will be introduced in coming updates.

Many #STEPN users have asked if there will be a cooldown period when switching between GST and GMT earning mode.
