In one of these lectures he mentions that he deliberately speaks very slowly and leaves long pauses when he speaks on alchemy because it's conditioning the listener to develop patience which is an essential skill/virtue to have if one is going to involve themselves in the great work.
Considering the ever shrinking attention span of the modern mind this great work of alchemy, whether internal or external, is becoming ever increasingly out of reach for people.
