After a successful action at schiphol,Extinction Rebellion is back. On March 25 we will be taking action against Eindhoven Airport. 

Eindhoven Airport does not have its permits in order. Besides all the climate, noise and airpollution Eindhoven Airport is causing, they also don't have their nature permit for civil aviation in order.

🌡️We are breaking heat record after heat record, during New Year's Eve it was 15 degrees and the 1.5 degree warming we have been staying below that for a long time. Something has to change now!  Eindhoven Airport has to participate as well.

Schiphol wil privé-vliegtuigen én nachtvluchten gaan verbieden. Eindelijk lijkt de knop om bij Schiphol. En terecht, want de luchtvaart is helemaal uit z'n jas gegroeid en gaat ver over de grenzen van klimaat, natuur en omwonenden.

Dat Schiphol Privé-vliegtuigen gaat verbannen is een goede stap. Privéjets kunnen echt niet meer in de klimaatcrisis. We hebben niet voor niets urenlang op het privéjet-terrein van Schiphol gestaan! En nachtvluchten verbannen is een goede eerste stap om de overlast van omwonenden op te lossen.

We gaan door
We zijn er natuurlijk nog niet. We gaan dit besluit goed volgen en op de details letten, en deze stappen mogen natuurlijk geen excuus zijn om Schiphol minder te laten krimpen. Om aan het klimaatakkoord van Parijs te voldoen, zal het aantal vluchten nog verder moeten dalen. Extinction Rebellion en Greenpeace blijven actief! 🔥

Maar, vandaag mogen we deze overwinning vieren. Actievoeren werkt!! 💚

Schiphol wants to stop private jets and nightly flights! Finally, Schiphol seems to switch gears. And not without reason: Aviation has grown way too big, and crosses all reasonable boundaries of climate, nature, and people who live near the airport.

Schiphol intending to stop private jets is a step in the good direction. Private jets are an absolute no-go in the climate crisis. That is why we chose to block the private jet terrain at Schiphol for many hours! And banning nightly flights is a good first step to alleviate the agony of people living near the airport.

We keep going
Of course, we're not there yet. We'll be monitoring this decision closely. Also, these steps cannot be an excuse to shrink Schiphol less: To reach the goals of the Paris agreement, the amount of flights will have to lower drastically more. Extinction Rebellion and Greenpeace will remain active! 🔥

📣 Na de geslaagde actie op Schiphol slaan Greenpeace & Extinction Rebellion wederom de handen ineen!

😢 Onze landbouw is ziek van de kunstmest, krachtvoer en pesticiden. Het resultaat; de verwoesting van zowel de Amazone als de Nederlandse natuur & landbouw. Zo zijn we al 80% van onze biodiversiteit kwijt en zijn onze bodems uitgeput.

🐄 Naast het oneindige dierenleed in de intensieve veehouderij lijden ook onze boeren; In de afgelopen 20 jaar is het aantal boeren gehalveerd door intensivering en schaalvergroting.

🏦De spin in het web is de Rabobank, want de bank financiert ruim 80% van de Nederlandse landbouw. Deze gifgroene 🤮 bank heeft nog steeds ruim 2 miljard (!) aan leningen uitstaan in kunstmest en pesticiden en is wereldwijd de op een na grootste financier van de ontbossing in Brazilië!

😡 Maar de Rabobank weigert mee te betalen aan het herstel van de schade die het heeft aangericht en laat zelfs de belastingbetaler opdraaien voor de kosten. Genoeg is genoeg!

😢Our agriculture is sick of fertilizers, concentrates and pesticides. The result; the destruction of both the Amazon and Dutch nature & agriculture. We have already lost 80% of our biodiversity and our soils are depleted. 😢

🛬 Vandaag organiseren KLM en het Eye Filmmuseum hun jaarlijkse feestje voor KLM's "Platinum Service" leden, die meer dan 60 keer per jaar vliegen, of één keer per zes dagen. KLM legt deze superrijken, die in een maand meer vliegen dan de meeste mensen in hun hele leven, in de watten. Ongeveer de helft van alle luchtvaartemissies is afkomstig van slechts 1% van de mensen, terwijl bijna 90% van de mensen in een bepaald jaar niet vliegt.

🤑 We moeten een standpunt innemen tegen dit onrecht, dus vandaag zal een verzameling organisaties, waaronder XR, Greenpeace, Krimp Luchtvaart, Fossielvrij NL en Fossielvrij Reclame, deze veelvliegers verwelkomen in het museum, met een herinnering dat hun luxe de vernietiging van de planeet betekent.

🛬 Today, KLM and the Eye Film Museum is hosting it's annual party for KLM's "Platinum Service" members, who fly more that 60 times a year, or once every six days. KLM will pamper these super-rich super-emitters, who fly more in a month than most people do in a lifetime. Around half of all aviation emissions comes from only 1% of people, with almost 90% of people not flying in any given year.

🤑 We must take a stand against this injustice, so today a collection of organisations including XR, Greenpeace, Krimp Luchtvaart, Fossielvrij NL and Fossielvrij Reclame will be welcoming these frequent flyers to the museum, with a reminder that their luxury is the planet's destruction.

🧳 This will be a low-risk action, where we will be bringing to attention that the rich and powerful are the ones fuelling the climate crisis. Please bring a suitcase with you, so that we can travel together to a "safe landing" for all.

🌎 Those who have contributed the least to the climate crisis are already getting the hardest hit. 🔥 MASSA ACTIE EINDHOVEN AIRPORT🔥

📣 Na de geslaagde actie vorig jaar is het helaas nodig om terug te gaan. Eindhoven Airport is regionaal veruit de grootste vervuiler maar weigert nog steeds verantwoording te nemen in een ernstige klimaat en biodiversiteitscrisis. Daarom voeren we opnieuw actie op 23 maart 2024.

🤮 De groen gewassen neus van de luchthaven.
Eindhoven Airport pretendeert duurzaam bezig te zijn door het aantal vliegbewegingen vanaf 2026 terug te brengen van 41500 naar 40500. Een druppel op een gloeiende plaat dus. Het afschaffen van de privévluchten per 2026 is een stap vooruit maar het is wel te laat. Tot 2026 wordt er dus buitensporig vervuild en dat zal met 40500 vliegbewegingen per jaar vanaf 2026 niet anders zijn.

✈️ Eindhoven airport weet welke schade ze aanricht, maar neemt hier geen verantwoordelijkheid voor. Aan groene praatjes hebben we niets.

Daarom komen we terug, om Eindhoven Airport ter verantwoording te roepen.

📣 After last year's successful campaign, it is unfortunately necessary to go back. Eindhoven Airport is by far the largest polluter regionally, but still refuses to take responsibility in a serious climate and biodiversity crisis. That is why we are taking action again on March 23, 2024.

🤮 The green washed nose of the airport.
Eindhoven Airport pretends to be sustainable by reducing the number of flight movements from 41,500 to 40,500 from 2026. So a drop in the ocean. Abolishing private flights by 2026 is a step forward, but it is too late. There will therefore be excessive pollution until 2026 and this will be no different with 40,500 flight movements per year from 2026.

✈️ Eindhoven airport knows what damage it causes, but continues to do so despite this knowledge. Green talk is of no use to us.
