Exactly 30 days from today the washington eviction moratorium will come to an end, and thousands of people will be cut loose with no support (around 160,000 households throughout washington from a US Census Bureau survey back in March). Now is the time to be preparing and talking to your neighbors and getting well aquatinted with your countys eviction process. During the start of the pandemic, people in cities all over the US shut down eviction courts, and throughout the pandemic people launched rent strikes, resisted evictions, and took over empty houses and buildings as the state left the poorest of us to fend for ourselves. And now the minimal protections that we did have are coming to an end to mark the beginning of a whole new crisis of housing, especially as landlords and speculators seek to recoup their losses from the pandemic.

For Thurston County, eviction court is held every friday starting at 8am. Its both in person and over zoom.

Though both Trump and the Democratic party worked to change the subject from abolishing the police to electoral politics—a year ago, Newsweek reported that the burning of the Third Precinct was more popular than any of the candidates in the 2020 election.
