Hundreds of Yellow Vests gathered in what would be dubbed as ‘Rainbow Bloc’ at the Council of State in solidarity with protesters arrested during the March of Liberties demonstration against the global security law in the previous week. Protesters were blocked from leaving the area by CRS riot police before being allowed through to the l’Amiral de Coligny street. The police then kettled the crowd for 40 minutes, causing many complaints before slowly letting protesters disperse.

"On this day in 1862, 38 Dakota men were executed in the aftermath of the Dakota War in the largest mass-execution in American history. It's understandably become fashionable to personally blame Abraham Lincoln for this genocidal crime, but scholarship doesn't really bear that out. The responsibility for this crime lies with the white settlers in Minnesota."

I don't defend nor do I envy the position Lincoln was in having all his troops in the civil war and then having to then deal with genocidal white settlers in Minnesota kidnapping a community of over 300 people to execute them. Regardless of which side you think Lincoln was on, this wouldnt have happened if it wasnt for the genocidal white settlers and they bear the blame for the crime. This would become an event in history that Hitler and the Nazis would take influence from to carry out similar attacks on Jews and Slavic people. It would be an event that influenced Teddy Roosevelt to carry our similar attacks on the Cheyenne and other indigenous communities. We must remember this event and the suffering of the Dakota people.
