Thought 5 of 60D30T : Now coming to the part of mindlessly solving mock and other areas . Mindlessly solving mock means just keep on solving without analysing and revising . It will certainly create problem for the candidate. Because at one side he isโ€ฆ
Thought 6 of 60D30T : Mastery

Not in one not in two but at least 5/7 subjects of static part you have to achieve this level if you want to clear prelims with ease .
Most of the times biggest problem is of become of master of one and not focusing on other subjects .
This list must include Polity and Economics come what may . Because these two subjects will come to your rescue if paper is tough or weird .

What does mastery means ?
You should be able to correctly mark questions of all level of difficulty . Your hit ratio must be more than 90% in these two subjects. Then choose any other 2 subjects out of 7 .

What about rest two ? Leave them or ignore them ? No itโ€™s not the case . There may be some areas where you might find it difficult to grasp . Therefore even if your hit ratio in these is 40- 50% itโ€™s fine .
( Will cover more in the next post )

Board- Dr Manoj Soni Sir
13/4/2023, forenoon session, 4th to go.
DAF keywords- Doctor, Academic director of free coaching for NEET. (There were lot others too)
Hobby- Poetry
Optional-Anthro

Chairman Sir:-
Asked to Remove mask to verify photograph. Gave option of wearing or keeping off mask(i chose not to wear)

-So from masks and as u are a doctor, in N95 mask, what is N and 95 exactly?
-coaching is a menace on education system, what are ethical issues involved?
-what steps can be taken to tackle it?
-what is size of coaching industry.

M1(Lady member)-
-U are so against coaching and still u urself running a coaching class?
-if u are an education secretary, what u will do tackle/regulate coaching industry?
-What is Ayushman Bharat?
-Have u seen any patient getting benefit of PM-JAY?

M2:-
-So Drโ€ฆu criticised lot the education system, but same system produced good people who lead MNCs and not the people who have studied had so called IB board schools who promote creativity and all. Why so?
(I humbly denied abt criticising whole education system. I reminded of criticism to coaching and pointed out to Resilience among studnts who face hardships and also to educational excellence of Public funded Higher Education institutions (IIT, IIM, AIIMS, JNU)

-Yes Adverisities bring best out of people.
And luxury of studnts from boards like IB, lack that (i said, sir i think we cannot generalise that), the he said there is data about that, (I didnโ€™t say ye or no for that)

M3:-
Picked up my earlier discussion about Teacher training-
You are doctor, but talked lot abt education and esp teacher training which happened to mu domain( i said , thats great sir, I m glad to know).
-what changes in entrance examination like JEE/UPSC u wud bring if u are made UPSC chairman or head of exam conducting body. ( preceded by long monologue abt high difficulty level of questions in JEE)
-monologue abt short cut tricks  taught at coaching and then erosion of values , my take on it.
(He was interested in asking more questions, but chairman sir signalled him to pass)

M4:-
(Speaking in Hindi)
-Narrated his experience abt unnecessary diagnostic tests he had to do at private hospital and mentioned abt demand-supply concept in  such scenarios. Asked abt my take.
-So is there any regulatory body to control/prevent such malpractices
-(taking que from work medical ethics i used in earlier answer)case study abt whom i ll throw from boat if there is a situation of saving any two from three(a pregnant lady, young boy or an elderly)

Chairman in the end- best of luck for ur future. Smiled.

Overall experience- i think panelists were very much involved in conversation(unlike still faces). Everything except first question abt N95 and abt Ayushyaman Bharat was like sitting for a discussion with learned people.

Mocks- i gave nearly all mocks (16-18) available in the market! ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป As i was immune to getting low confidence after critical feedback. i was using to gradually refine myself.
Helped me in practising articulation.

DAF based guidance from Mahesh Bhagwat (IPS) sir, Dr Prasanna (IPS) Sir and SOMP Mentor(Utkarsh sir) helped to define boundaries of preparation without getting panicked/anxious.

Duration:30+ minutes approx.

Thought 7 of 60D30T: Mastery over any subject

Firstly , I firmly believe that still you can clear Prelims in the remaining 45 days if you give all it takes.

How to achieve mastery in any subject?

The following steps will guide you:
Step 1 : read book from chapter 1 to last and solve previous year questions.
Step 2 : solve one mock test of the same subject. Analyse your mistakes and learn from those .
Step 3 : Read the same book from last chapter to chapter 1 . This is a very important step in your preparation. Reason being you keep on reading the book from the beginning and keep on achieving mastery only on half part but following this you will holistically cover the book .
Step 4 : Solve one more subject wise mock test of the same subject. Now go into deeper analysis of the test and identify your weak areas .
Step 5: Read only those chapters where you feel that you are weak and strengthen your content .
Step 6 : Revise previous year questions plus 2 mock tests which you have solved .
Thatโ€™s it . Your job is done .

Should you make notes of the static part ?
Just donโ€™t rewrite the short version of the book . Only on those topics where you feel that by reason from you are not able to remember things , you can make notes .
For ex : on Constitutional bodies or on the parliament chapter as there are many concepts in this .

Thought 8 of 60D30T : Taking pain by eating the ugliest frog .

Had the prelims been simple everybody would have cleared it with minimal effort. But itโ€™s not the case and every year itโ€™s becoming tougher and weird . If the nature of exam is changing then you also must change accordingly. For example nature and number of questions from History section.

According to me the ugliest frog in the prelims is HISTORY part . This is one area where no single source is sufficient and chances are that even after covering many sources you will not be able to solve all the questions.

History covers around 20% of the prelims paper . Around 21-22 questions are being asked now a days . Half of the questions are out of blue and students struggle to solve this part in the real exam .

What is the way out ? As this post title says Taking pain by eating the ugliest frog .
Here you have to cover things from many different sources.
Firstly , your standard source should be NCERTs or TN 11,12th books .
Secondly , you can go through Rajiv ahir or any reference book which you like.
Thirdly , in other subjects if you are solving past 10-12 years pyqs then it works fine but not in History . Here you have to take the pain of going to 20-25 years of pyqs. I know it sounds crazy but this is the ugliest frog which you have eat like this only . If time permits again saying only if time permits then go for CAPF past year history questions.
Lastly , simply Mug up the facts , names , places etc , there is no way out for the same . If someone says that you can understand those things then you are being fooled . Mugging up is the best way out for history.

Out of 21 questions if you are able to solve 12-13 questions correctly then the pain was worth taking .
