What is the story behind behind this phrase?
This was not just a “clip” or a random remark. It refers to one of the most brutal incidents attributed to the axis of killing in Syria in 2014.
The affair began as part of a prisoner-exchange deal between the Syrian opposition and the Assad regime, backed by Iranian militias. Under the agreement, the regime committed to releasing 1,800 civilians from opposition families — women, children and elderly people — in exchange for 150 of its militia members.
But, as usual, the regime betrayed the agreement.
While its prisoners were being transported by buses to the Air Force Intelligence headquarters, the regime allegedly arranged for the route designated for the civilians’ evacuation to be rigged in advance with ten tons of dynamite and mines.
Once all the families were inside the killing zone, Haytham al-Tabatabai gave the order:
“فجّر يا علاء” — “Detonate it, Alaa.”
At that moment, a horrific massacre took place:
More than 1,000 civilians — most of them women and children — were killed on the spot, while around 800 others were wounded.
It was one of the largest and most brutal massacres of the entire Syrian revolution.
And this is “Abu Ali al-Tabatabai,” whom those sick and twisted voices are mourning today as a “fighter.”
This is his history.
These are his crimes.
And this is the blood that will never be erased.
