The offensive saw PLC-aligned and Tariq Saleh’s National Resistance forces collapse or withdraw across the Hays axis, abandoning Hays, Al-Khawkhah, Al-Haymah port, Al-Wazi’iyah, Mawza, Yakhtul, Jabal al-Nar, the Khalid ibn al-Walid camp and numerous surrounding positions, before Houthi forces advanced on Mocha from the north and east and subsequently reached the city and coastline.

Saudi and Yemeni aircraft launched intensive strikes, including around Jabal al-Nar, in an attempt to slow the advance, while the Houthis simultaneously fired ballistic missiles at Mocha and targets inside Saudi Arabia.

Houthi leader Mahdi al-Mashat also announced an amnesty for opposing fighters who lay down their weapons as government-aligned forces retreated southward.

The capture of Mocha removes the principal anti-Houthi military and logistical hub on this section of the Red Sea coast and places Ansarullah only 60–75 km north of the Bab al-Mandab Strait, bringing its ground forces significantly closer to one of the world’s most critical shipping chokepoints.
