At 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time on July 22, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces completed another round of strikes against Iran, the 12th consecutive night.

U.S. forces struck Iranian military targets, including naval capabilities, missile and unmanned aerial vehicle storage facilities, coastal surveillance sites, and air defense facilities. The strikes further undermine Iran’s ability to attack civilian seafarers and commercial vessels.

Over the past month, U.S. forces have targeted dozens of Iranian military sites on land, renewing a naval blockade against Iran. To date, CENTCOM has diverted nine commercial vessels and prevented one vessel from entering or leaving Iranian ports.

בשידור חי טוען עבד אלכרים ח'לף (عبد الكريم خلف), לשעבר דובר צבא עיראק, כי קצינים ירדנים הדליפו לאיראן מידע מודיעיני מדויק על בסיס חיל האוויר מוופק א-סלטי בירדן, שהותקף במתקפת הטילים האיראנית האחרונה.
אם הטענה נכונה, מדובר בהתפתחות בעלת השלכות מרחיקות לכת על יחסי האמון בין ירדן לארצות הברית ועל שיתוף הפעולה הביטחוני ביניהן.
אבל גם אם יתברר שאין לה בסיס, עצם העלאתה בפומבי מעניינת בפני עצמה.
למה?
כי במזרח התיכון, מלחמות לא מתנהלות רק באמצעות טילים, מל"טים ומערכות הגנה. הן מתנהלות גם באמצעות נרטיבים, הדלפות והאשמות, שמטרתן לעצב תפיסות, לערער אמון ולהשפיע על קבלת ההחלטות של מדינות.
לכן, כשבכיר לשעבר משמיע טענה כה חריגה, השאלה אינה רק אם היא נכונה. חשוב גם לשאול: מדוע היא נאמרת דווקא עכשיו, ומה האינטרס שלו לומר זאת?

Additional satellite imagery shows an aircraft hangar at King Faisal Air Base in #Jordan🇯🇴 that was damaged in the attack, with smoke rising above the facility.

During a live broadcast, Abdul Karim Khalaf (عبد الكريم خلف), the former spokesman for the Iraqi military, claimed that Jordanian officers leaked precise intelligence to Iran regarding Muwaffaq Al-Salti Air Base in Jordan, which was struck during the latest Iranian missile attack.
If the claim is true, it would represent a development with far-reaching implications for the trust between Jordan and the United States, as well as for their security cooperation.
But even if it ultimately proves to be false, the fact that it was made publicly is noteworthy in itself.
Why?
Because in the Middle East, wars are not fought solely with missiles, drones, and air defense systems. They are also fought through narratives, leaks, and accusations aimed at shaping perceptions, undermining trust, and influencing the decision-making of states.
Therefore, when a former senior official makes such an extraordinary allegation, the question is not only whether it is true. It is equally important to ask: Why is he saying this now, and what interest does he have in making this claim?
