Israel Allegedly Tried to Recruit Ahmadinejad as an Asset; Former #Mossad Chief Reportedly Met with Him

According to an investigation by The New York Times, former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was identified as a potential figure who could lead Iran after the fall of the Islamic Republic. The report claims that Israel attempted to establish contact with him, including through a clandestine meeting involving a former Mossad chief, but that the effort ultimately failed.

Dr. Tamar Eilam Gindin, an Iran expert at the Ezri Center at the University of Haifa and a linguist specializing in Persian and ancient and modern Iran, commented:

שירות הביטחון הפדרלי הרוסי (FSB) הודיע כי סיכל מתקפת רחפנים רחבת היקף בסגנון "מבצע קורי העכביש" שכוונה נגד שדות תעופה צבאיים באזורי אמור וצ'ליאבינסק ובאזור מוסקבה, המתקפה הייתה אמורה לכלול 35 רחפנים שהורכבו בקייב עם מערכות בקרה מתוצרת קנדה, שלכאורה הוברחו לרוסיה מוסתרים במשלוחים של אריחי קרמיקה ספרדיים דרך סלובקיה ופולין.

לפי ה-FSB, מספר אנשים שהיו מעורבים בתכנון המתקפות, יחד עם שותפיהם לכאורה, נעצרו.

ה-FSB מציין גם כי תפס 24 רחפנים מסוג FPV המצוידים במודולי רשת עצביים מבוססי בינה מלאכותית. הסוכנות ציינה כי הרחפנים הכילו רכיבים שיוצרו בבריטניה, ארצות הברית, קנדה ושוודיה, והוכנו לתקיפות נגד שדות תעופה צבאיים רוסיים.

החוקרים ציינו כי הרחפנים הובלו על ידי שותפים בתאים נסתרים שהוסוו כמכשירי חשמל ביתיים לפני שיורטו על ידי כוחות הביטחון.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) claims to have foiled a large-scale "Operation Spider Web"-style drone attack targeting a strategic facility in the Moscow region, targeting military airfields in the Amur and Chelyabinsk regions, involving 35 drones assembled in Kiev with Canadian-made control systems, allegedly smuggled into Russia hidden in shipments of Spanish ceramic tiles via Slovakia and Poland.

According to the FSB, several individuals involved in planning the attacks, along with their alleged accomplices, have been detained.

The FSB also states that it seized 24 FPV drones equipped with AI-based neural network modules. The agency mentioned the drones contained components manufactured in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Sweden, and were being prepared for strikes against Russian military airfields.

Investigators mentioned that the drones were transported by accomplices in concealed compartments disguised as household appliances before being intercepted by security forces.
