כוחות הביטחון בצרפת פתחו בחקירה לאחר שכלי נשק נמצאו ברכב שעל פי מידע מודיעיני של שירות הביטחון הפנים הצרפתי (DGSI) היה עלול לשמש לביצוע פיגוע נגד הקהילה היהודית בעיר סרסל, שבפרברי פריז.

על פי הדיווח, הרכב אותר בשעות הערב ברחוב אנרי דונאן כשהוא חונה וריק מנוסעים. בעקבות החשש כי הוא עלול להכיל מטען חבלה או אמצעי לחימה נוספים, הוקם היקף אבטחה רחב, וכ-300 בני אדם פונו מבית קולנוע וממספר מסעדות סמוכות.

חבלני המשטרה הוזעקו לזירה וביצעו סריקה של הרכב. בתא המטען נמצאו רובה טעון ובו שבעה כדורים, וכן אקדח טעון עם עשרה כדורים.

החקירה נמשכת, ובשלב זה טרם נמסר אם הפרקליטות הלאומית למאבק בטרור (PNAT) תיטול לידיה את ניהול התיק. הרשויות טרם הודיעו על מעצרים או מסרו פרטים נוספים באשר לחשודים האפשריים.

French security authorities have launched an investigation after weapons were discovered inside a vehicle that, according to intelligence from France's domestic security agency (DGSI), may have been intended for use in a terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community in Sarcelles, a suburb of Paris.
According to the report, the vehicle was located in the evening on Rue Henri Dunant, parked and unoccupied. Due to concerns that it could contain an explosive device or additional weapons, authorities established a wide security perimeter and evacuated approximately 300 people from a cinema and several nearby restaurants.
Police bomb disposal units were dispatched to the scene and searched the vehicle. They found a loaded rifle with seven rounds in the trunk, as well as a loaded handgun containing ten rounds.
The investigation is ongoing. At this stage, it has not been announced whether France's National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office (PNAT) will take over the case. Authorities have not reported any arrests or released further details regarding possible suspects.
