The remnants of the occupation after their escape from al-Maghar

ביממה האחרונה נרשמו שני אירועים חריגים בדרום סוריה, הממחישים שוב את האתגר הביטחוני המתפתח מול ישראל בגבול הסורי.

ב-28 ביוני בשעות הבוקר צה"ל חיסל שני חמושים באזור ח׳דר, סמוך למרחב החיץ בגולן הסורי. שיוכם הארגוני וזהותם טרם ידועים. להערכתנו, קיימות מספר אפשרויות בהקשר שיוכם וזהותם של המחוסלים: סורים מקומיים (סורים / פלסטינים) המופעלים על ידי איראן / חזבאללה או ארגונים פלסטינים (חמאס, גא"פ או אלג'מאעה אלאסלאמיה) או לחילופין פעילים אשר הגיעו מלבנון (יתכן פלסטינים).

להערכתנו, הימצאותם במרחב זה וחיסולם מצביעים על כוונתם לבצע פעילות טרור נגד ישראל, בין אם במתווה חדירה לעבר יישובים ישראליים, ניסיון פגיעה בכוחות צה״ל באמצעות ירי, מטען או הכנת תשתית לפיגוע עתידי על ידי איסוף מודיעין.

ב-28 ביוני בשעות הערב והלילה, על פי דיווחים מקומיים התרחשו תקריות בעיירה עאבדין שבאגן הירמוך, באזור משולש הגבולות ישראל-ירדן-סוריה. לפי הדיווחים, תושבים חסמו צירים, יידו אבנים ואף ירו במקלעים לעבר כוחות צה״ל, שהשיבו בירי ארטילרי וירי ממסוקים.

עאבדין אינה נקודה מקרית. היא ממוקמת במרחב רגיש במיוחד, סמוך למשולש הגבולות, באזור שבעבר שימש בסיס פעילות של שלוחת דאע"ש באגן הירמוך / מחוז חוראן. גם לאחר נפילת אסד, המרחב נותר בלתי יציב: שילוב של חמושים מקומיים, תשתיות טרור ישנות, הברחות, ואינטרסים של הציר השיעי הופך אותו לאזור בעייתי במיוחד.

דרום סוריה, במיוחד אגן הירמוך ומשולש הגבולות, משמשים פלטפורמה אפשרית לפעילות טרור נגד ישראל ונגד ירדן - ישירות דרך הגבול הסורי, ובעקיפין דרך נתיבי הברחות נשק ואמל״ח לירדן וליהודה ושומרון. אזור דרום סוריה רווי בתאי טרור מקומיים בעשרות כפרים ומופעלים על ידי איראן, חזבאללה וארגונים פלסטינים. באזור אגן הירמוכ כבר התרחשו אירועי ירי לעבר כוחות צה״ל באזור כוויא (25 במרץ 2025) הסמוכה מאוד לעאבדין.

האירועים בח׳דר ובעאבדין מדגישים כי הנוכחות והפעילות של צה״ל במרחב החיץ אינן רק תגובה נקודתית, אלא חלק ממאמץ מניעתי רחב: הרחקת איומים מהגבול, סיכול התארגנויות טרור, ומניעת התבססות מחודשת של גורמי טרור בדרום סוריה.

Over the past 24 hours, two unusual incidents were reported in southern Syria, once again highlighting the evolving security challenge facing Israel along the Syrian border.
On the morning of June 28, the IDF eliminated two armed militants in the Khader area, near the buffer zone in the Syrian Golan. Their identities and organizational affiliation remain unknown. According to our assessment, several possibilities exist regarding their affiliation: local Syrians (Syrian or Palestinian) operating on behalf of Iran, Hezbollah, or Palestinian terrorist organizations (Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or Al-Jama'a al-Islamiyya), or alternatively operatives who infiltrated from Lebanon, possibly Palestinians.
In our assessment, their presence in this area and their elimination indicate an intent to carry out terrorist activity against Israel, whether through an infiltration into Israeli communities, an attack on IDF forces using gunfire or explosive devices, or by preparing infrastructure for a future attack through intelligence collection.
Later on June 28, during the evening and overnight hours, local reports described clashes in the town of Abdin in the Yarmouk Basin, near the Israel–Jordan–Syria tri-border area. According to these reports, residents blocked roads, threw stones, and even fired machine guns at IDF forces, which responded with artillery fire and helicopter strikes.
Abdin is far from a random location. It lies in an exceptionally sensitive area near the tri-border region, which previously served as a stronghold for ISIS's Yarmouk Basin branch (Hauran Province). Even after the fall of the Assad regime, the area has remained unstable. A combination of local armed groups, legacy terrorist infrastructure, smuggling networks, and the interests of the Iranian-led axis makes it a particularly problematic region.

סוריה אינה שדה ניסויים לקונספירציות זרות, ואינה מקום למימוש שאיפותיהם של אחרים על חשבון דמם של ילדינו ונשותינו.

The Israeli entity, which has always accustomed us to targeting our stability and creating discord among us since the overthrow of the defunct regime, is now seeking once again to turn our pure land into an arena of unending chaos.

This entity does not stop using all methods to plant disputes and conflicts. It seeks to dismantle the unity of our people and weaken our ability to move forward in the process of rebuilding and renaissance. A war that has no goal other than fragmenting our homeland and scattering our efforts towards chaos and destruction.

Possessing great power does not necessarily mean achieving victory, just as winning in a certain arena does not guarantee success in another arena.

You may be able to start the war, but it is not easy to control its outcome. Syrians, throughout their long history, have rejected all separation and division. We are the children of this land, and the most capable of overcoming all the Israeli entity's attempts aimed at tearing us apart, and too solid for our resolve to be shaken by fabricated sedition.

Syria is not a testing ground for foreign conspiracies, nor a place for carrying out the ambitions of others at the expense of the blood of our children and women.
