Yesterday (Thursday), an IDF officer was moderately injured, and an additional officer and two soldiers were lightly injured as a result of a close-quarters encounter with a #Hezbollah🌟 terrorist in southern Lebanon.

The soldiers were evacuated to receive medical treatment at a hospital, and their families have been notified.

A New York City council has voted to freeze rents on nearly a million rent-controlled apartments in the city, a dramatic policy achievement for Mayor Zoharan Mamedani, who promised it during his campaign. The decision prevents rent increases on more than 40 percent of the apartments across the city’s five boroughs, including luxury high-rises, low-cost subsidized housing and historic buildings more than 150 years old. “This is a historic victory for New York City tenants,” Mamedani said after the vote. The freeze will apply to leases signed after Oct. 1, and will be the first ever to apply to both one- and two-year leases at the same time.

Israel will maintain its security zone along the Blue Line in Lebanon until the day #Hezbollah🌟 and other terrorist organizations in Lebanon disarm. The IDF's freedom of military action will be preserved throughout the security zone to remove threats of any kind. Israel and Lebanon agreed on two areas adjacent to the Blue Line recommended by the IDF where a pilot for Hezbollah's disarmament and transfer of control to the Lebanese army will take place: one area outside the Blue Line and south of the Litani River, and the other outside the original Blue Line and north of the Litani. Israel will have to confirm the success of the pilot operation, meaning the clearing of the area/village from Hezbollah.

Citizens of Israel, before the start of Shabbat, I want to announce a great achievement for the State of Israel. You know that we are conducting negotiations in Washington between representatives of Israel, Lebanon, and the United States. It has been a prolonged negotiation, and today it has borne fruit.

The most important thing is that, first and foremost, Israel remains in the security zone in southern Lebanon.

The trilateral framework is the first step to restoring Lebanese sovereignty and territorial integrity, securing a permanent and final cessation of hostilities, enabling our people to go back to their land, and allowing all Lebanese to live in peace, safety, and prosperity.
