The US launched new strikes against Iranian targets on the night of May 28. Command officials stated that the strikes were "defensive in nature".

אמש, 27 במאי, בצפון ישראל, נהרגה כתוצאה מתקיפ רחפני נפץ של #חיזבאללה🌟 מלבנון סמלת רותם ינאי, בת 20 מגבעת עדה, ששירתה כמש"קית ת"ש בגדוד 435 "רותם" של חטיבת "גבעתי".

אתמול, סמוך לשעה 14:45, שני רחפני FPV התפוצצו בשטח צבאי באזור שומרה, בשטח ישראל, סמוך לגבול לבנון.
אחד הרחפנים התפוצץ באזור זה, וכתוצאה מכך נהרגה סמלת רותם ינאי, בעת שעשתה את דרכה למרחב מוגן.
מהרחפן השני נפצעו שני לוחמי מילואים, חברי כיתת הכוננות של מושב גורן — אחד מהם נפצע באורח קשה והשני באורח בינוני.
במקרה זה הרחפנים זוהו על ידי מערכות צה"ל, ולכן הופעלה אזעקה באזור עם זיהוים.
הפצועים פונו להמשך טיפול רפואי בבית החולים בנהריה.

On the evening of May 27, in northern Israel, Sergeant Rotem Yanai, 20, from Givat Ada, was killed in an attack from Lebanon. She served as a welfare NCO (Mashakit Tash) in the 435th “Rotem” Battalion of the Givati Brigade.

Yesterday, at approximately 14:45, two FPV drones exploded in a military zone near Shomera, inside Israeli territory close to the Lebanese border.
One of the drones exploded in the area, killing Sergeant Rotem Yanai as she was making her way to a protected shelter.
The second drone injured two reserve soldiers, members of the emergency response team of Moshav Goren — one was seriously wounded and the other moderately wounded.
In this case, the drones were detected by IDF systems, and sirens were activated in the area upon their detection.
The wounded were evacuated for further medical treatment at a hospital in Nahariya.
