Israel quietly deployed an Iron Dome air defense system to the #UAE early in the Iran War, along with troops to operate it, according to .
The move, ordered by Netanyahu after a call with UAE President MBZ, marked the first time Israel had sent an Iron Dome battery abroad, and the UAE became the first country outside Israel and the U.S. to use the system, which subsequently intercepted dozens of Iranian missiles.

Officials say military, intelligence, and security cooperation between the two countries has reached unprecedented levels during the conflict.

The deployment of Israeli troops on UAE soil was seen as politically sensitive, but Emirati officials said perceptions shifted during the war, with one noting that “anyone helping protect the country” is viewed positively. Another added, "We are not going to forget it,” referring to Israel’s support.

A second Emirati official said the same applies to other countries that assisted, including the U.S., France, the U.K., Italy, and Australia, calling it “a real eye-opening moment… to see who our real friends are.”

This morning, a trial opened at the court in Damascus in which senior officials from Bashar al-Assad’s former regime were brought to justice for the first time. The first defendant—whose trial, of course, was not conducted in his presence—was Bashar al-Assad. He was followed by another defendant from his regime: Atef Najib, who served as head of the Political Security branch in the city of Daraa until 2011 and is also Bashar’s cousin.

As Najib entered the courtroom, some of those present insulted him—as can be heard in the following footage, with the first clip showing the reading of the names of Bashar al-Assad and Atef Najib.

It should be noted that these proceedings are taking place in the shadow of the arrest last Friday of Amjad Youssef, one of the perpetrators of the 2013 massacre in the Tadamon neighborhood of Damascus—an arrest that was highly significant for Syrian society.
