Cole Thomas Allen has a strong technical background: he graduated from California Institute of Technology in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and in 2025 he received a master’s degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

During his studies, Allen drew local media attention for developing a prototype emergency braking system for wheelchairs.
