A few hours ago, a pair of U.S. Air Force E-3B/C โ€œSentryโ€ Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft departed from Joint Base Elmendorf in Alaska and headed east.

Their stated destination is RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom, from where they are likely to redeploy toward the Middle East. Ahead of potential airstrikes on Iran, they are expected to conduct long-range surveillance operations and provide real-time intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) support to fighter and bomber aviation units.

The second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States is expected today at noon at the Omani embassy in Geneva โ€” mediated by Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi.
