לפי דיווח באתר "בנגקוק פוסט", החשוד, שי אלפסי בעל מסעדת "לולה", הפעיל את מערך המכירות באמצעות אפליקציית וואטסאפ, תוך שימוש בשם עברי. על פי החשד, לקוחות שביצעו הזמנה קיבלו תמונות והנחיות להגעה לנקודות מסתור באי, שם הוסלקו הסמים בתוך גרביים שחורות.

התביעה הוציאה הודעה שהיא תדרוש את המקסימום שהחוק מאפשר לה.. שזה אומר עונש מוות.
