הירידה בערכו של הדולר מאידך, אינה תוצאה של  ניהול כלכלי רע, להיפך כמויות המיליארדים שטראמפ גייס, והקיצוץ הגדול בחוב הלאומי היו אמורים להביא לעליה בערך הדולר, הירידה נובעת מתנועות הון סיניות. הדיקטטורה הקומוניסטית מבינה שטראמפ יכול לחלט את ההון העצום שהיא השקיעה באגרות חוב דולריות, והיא מנסה להוציא את ההון הזה בכל דרך, בין במכירת אגרות, מתכות יקרות ואפילו קריפטו. דולר נמוך ישרת את אויבי ארה״ב כי הוא ימנע הורדת ריבית הנחוצה להאצת הכלכלה. הורדת רמבית שהנגיד השמאלני מתנגד לה (בדיוק כמו בארץ).

לפי דיווח באתר "בנגקוק פוסט", החשוד, שי אלפסי בעל מסעדת "לולה", הפעיל את מערך המכירות באמצעות אפליקציית וואטסאפ, תוך שימוש בשם עברי. על פי החשד, לקוחות שביצעו הזמנה קיבלו תמונות והנחיות להגעה לנקודות מסתור באי, שם הוסלקו הסמים בתוך גרביים שחורות.
