סומלילנד היא מהלך שחמט אסטרטגי מול איראן והחות’ים

שגיב אסולין, בכיר לשעבר במערכת הביטחון וחוקר בכיר במרכז הירושלמי לענייני חוץ וביטחון, אומר כי המהלך החשאי בסומלילנד הוא אירוע אסטרטגי רחב היקף שנבנה לאורך זמן והובל בעיקר על ידי המוסד. לדבריו, הקרבה לתימן ולזירת החות’ים הופכת את המהלך למשמעותי במיוחד במאבק מול הציר האיראני.

“יש ברכה רבה מאוד בדברים שנעשים בצורה סמויה מן העין. למהלך הזה קדמו חודשים, אם לא שנים, של עבודה עמוקה של המוסד”, אומר אסולין, “זה אירוע אסטרטגי, לא פחות ממהלך של שחמט בזירה האזורית”.

אסולין מתייחס גם לתגובתו הפומבית של הנשיא טראמפ ואומר כי היא אינה מקרית: “התגובה כביכול של טראמפ של ‘איפה זה סומלילנד, לא מכיר’... כולם יודעים איך זה עובד. זה מהלך מתואם היטב”. לדבריו, מדובר במהלך שמציב נוכחות אמריקאית וישראלית פיזית ישירות מול איראן והחות’ים: “אנחנו רואים התכנסות של הגושים מול הגוש השיעי והאיראני. זה מהלך יוצא דופן, והוא לא הסוף”.

Sagiv Asulin, a former senior official in the defense establishment and a senior researcher at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign and Security Affairs, says that the secret move in Somaliland is a large-scale strategic event that was built over time and led mainly by the Mossad.
