Dramatic report in the Guardian:

Microsoft blocked Israel Intelligence Unit 8200 from using its cloud.

Microsoft has cut off the IDF's access to technology used to run a powerful surveillance system that collected millions of arabs' phone calls daily in Gaza and the West Bank.

The company informed Israeli officials that Unit 8200 of the IDF Intelligence Corps had violated Microsoft's terms of service by 'storing the massive trove of surveillance data on its Azure cloud platform'.

Microsoft's chief executive, Satya Nadella, met with Yossi Sariel, the commander of the IDF's Intelligence Corps Unit 8200, in 2021. Microsoft assisted the unit in building this mass surveillance tool.
