Dr. Eli Carmon, a senior researcher at Reichman University, assesses the crisis between Ankara and Jerusalem. How did we reach this low point in communication between the countries? Can relations be restored?

According to Carmon:

There is a possibility of military escalation, and therefore I think Israel should respond at the political level, because Turkey is becoming a much more dangerous factor than Iran. The Nagel Commission included Turkey on the list as a potential enemy state in the near future, and I think rightly so. As long as Erdogan is president, there will be no real restoration of relations between the two countries. Even if the war in Gaza ends and if Hamas is expelled from Gaza, it is assumed that the place where its leaders can hide or take refuge and continue to act against Israel is Turkey.

כוחות אוגדה 99 פועלים במרחב צפון רצועת עזה לאיתור והשמדת תשתיות טרור. ביממה האחרונה, תקפה חטיבת האש (990) מספר עמדות תצפית אשר שימשו מחבלים לתצפת על כוחות צה"ל. בנוסף, כוחות חטיבה 7 תקפו מבנה צבאי ממנו נורו שני טילי נ"ט לעבר כוחות צה"ל, ללא נפגעים.

במקביל, כוחות אוגדה 162 ממשיכים להילחם בצפון רצועת עזה. כחלק מפעילותם, חטיבת האש 215 הפועלת בסיוע לכוחות המתמרנים, השמידו מצלמה ששימשה מחבלים לתצפת על כוחות צה"ל. כמו כן, בשבוע האחרון צוות הקרב של חטיבת גבעתי הפועלים במרחב ג'באליה חיסלו מחבלים, השמידו תוואים תת קרקעיים צבאיים וזירות מטענים.

בדרום רצועת עזה, צוותי הקרב של החטיבות 188 וגולני הפועלים בפיקוד אוגדה 36 חיסלו מחבלים והשמידו תשתיות טרור תת קרקעיות.

צה״ל ימשיך לפעול על מנת להסיר כל איום על אזרחי מדינת ישראל.
