קייל סרפין, קצין לשעבר ומנחה פודקאסט כיום, טען שאלקסיס וילקינס הציבה לקאש פאטל "מלכודת דבש" למען "מטרות זרות" שנועדו לסכן את ארה"ב. הוא רמז: "בטח אין קשר לקרבה לממשל", ונתבע ב-5 מיליון דולר: "זדוני"
בת זוגו של ראש ה-FBI קאש פאטל, זמרת הקאנטרי בת ה-26 אלקסיס וילקינס, תובעת סוכן בולשת לשעבר ב-5 מיליון דולר בטענה שהציג אותה כמרגלת ישראלית. לטענת וילקינס, קייל סרפין, כיום מגיש פודקאסט פוליטי, הפיץ ביודעין האשמות שקריות עליה כ"סוכנת מוסד לשעבר" שנכנסה לקשר עם פטאל (45) כחלק מ"מלכודת דבש" שנועדה לסכן את ביטחון המדינה. זאת, לדבריה, במטרה לפגוע בשמה ולערער על מעמד בעלה
כתב התביעה שהוגש לבית המשפט באוסטין, טקסס, מציג את סרפין כמי שניצל את עברו כקצין יחידת נגד-טרור ב-FBI כדי להעניק אמינות להאשמותיו. לטענת וילקינס, הוא לא הסתפק ברמיזות אלא ייחס לה במפורש עבירות ריגול, חבלה בביטחון הלאומי ואף בגידה - מהחמורות ביותר בספר החוקים האמריקני. היא טוענת כי מדובר ב"שקר זדוני" שנועד לייצר קליקים, תרומות וחסויות, ולבנות את קריירת התקשורת של סרפין על חשבונה.
לצד ההאשמות על ריגול, בתביעה מצוינות גם הערות בעלות נופך גזעני שנשמעו בתוכניתו של סרפין, שבהן לעג לפטאל ותהה כיצד צעירה אמריקנית לבנה בחרה בקשר איתו, "אם לא למטרות זרות?".
סרפין אמר במהלך תוכניתו בשבוע שעבר כי לראש ה-FBI "יש את הבעיה הקטנה שלו עם 'מלכודת דבש', אז בואו נודה בזה בפומבי: יש לו חברה שצעירה ממנו בחצי, שהיא גם זמרת קאנטרי, גם פרשנית פוליטית בראמבל (שירות סטרימינג - ד"א), חברה של מי שמחזיק גם נתח גדול בראמבל – והיא גם סוכנת מוסד לשעבר, המקבילה שלהם ל-NSA".
לדבריו, "זה בטח רק כי היא ממש חיפשה גבר פוזל, קצת שמנמן, סופר קול, כמעט בן 50, הודי באמריקה. אין לזה שום קשר לזה שאנחנו קרובים מאוד לממשל טראמפ. זה בטח פשוט אהבה אמיתית. ככה נראית אהבה אמיתית".
לטענת התביעה, סרפין פגש את בני הזוג באירוע פוליטי שמרני לפני כשנתיים, ו"ידע היטב שמדובר בזוגיות ותיקה ולא בקשר חדש שנולד לאחר מינויו של פטאל לראש ה-FBI".

עורכי דינה של וילקינס מדגישים כי היא כלל אינה יהודייה, לא ביקרה בישראל מעולם, ומעולם לא עבדה עבור סוכנות ביון כלשהי. היא מתוארת בכתב התביעה כ"פטריוטית אמריקנית, זמרת קאנטרי, נוצרייה ושמרנית", שמשלבת את הקריירה המוזיקלית שלה עם כתיבה ופעילות בארגון ההסברה השמרני PragerU שמפיק סרטונים ותכנים דיגיטליים לצעירים.

In the Gaza Strip, yesterday we struck one of Hamas’ senior leaders, Abu Obaida. This is not the end, most of Hamas’ leadership is abroad, and we will reach them as well.”

Today (Sunday), the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, held a situational assessment at Northern Command with the participation of the Commander of Northern Command, MG Rafi Milo; the Head of the Intelligence Directorate, MG Shlomi Binder; the Head of the Planning Directorate, MG Eyal Harel; the Head of the Operations Directorate, MG Itzik Cohen; division commanders from the arena, and other senior commanders.

As part of the situational assessment, the operational intelligence picture and the forthcoming operational plans were presented.

From the remarks of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir: “The IDF is operating offensively, with initiative and operational superiority, across all arenas and at all times. In the Gaza Strip, yesterday we struck one of Hamas’ senior leaders, Abu Obaida, after most of Hamas’ leadership had already been eliminated. Our actions are not yet complete, most of the remaining Hamas’ leadership is abroad, and we will reach them as well. This step joins a series of significant IDF strikes in Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, and other arenas. We are surprising, acting with initiative, and reaching every target in order to ensure the security of Israeli civilians.

We are continuing our efforts and operations to return all the hostages, both living and fallen. In recent days, in a special operation, the bodies of hostages Idan Shtivi and Ilan Weiss were recovered. Since the beginning of Operation ‘Gideon’s Chariots’ in March of this year, the bodies of ten hostages have been recovered, in addition to Idan Alexander. We will continue to act decisively to bring them back and will spare no effort, this is our moral mission.

Tomorrow, a large part of the students in Israel will begin the new school year, and some residents of the north will return to school for the first time since the start of the war. From here I want to say to the residents of the north, the basic condition for opening the school year is the security of the residents. The return to studies is made possible thanks to the activities of the troops and the achievements since the beginning of the war, activities that continue even at this very moment.

Northern Command continues to strike and dismantle emerging threats. This is the approach, we do not wait.

Alongside the return to school, this week reservists will report for duty as we continue to advance the combat against Hamas in Gaza City. The mission is not yet complete, and I trust that they will arrive and carry it out in the best possible way. Our achievements are thanks to their repeated readiness to stand up time and again for the security of Israel.”

The Chief of the General Staff expressed appreciation to the commanders of Northern Command for their operational actions, which are delivering the results.
