The mining process in Cortensor involves computers (nodes) working together to complete AI tasks and earn rewards. A "state machine" manages the whole process to ensure it runs smoothly and fairly.

How It Works
State Machine: Think of it as a game manager that guides each step, ensuring tasks move from one stage to the next correctly—like passing levels in a game.

Node Activation: When someone joins, their computer (node) is checked to see if it's ready to participate, similar to ensuring your gaming console meets requirements before playing.

Proof of Useful Work (PoUW): Once a node is ready, it follows several steps:

Request State: The system selects a node to start the session.
Create State: The chosen miner sets the task's theme and begins work.
Prepare State: Another miner builds questions related to the theme.
Start State: AI processes the questions.
Precommit State: Miners submit hashed answers (hidden for security).
Commit State: Miners reveal their answers, and the system verifies them.
End State: The session is completed, and a new one begins.
Quality Control
Cortensor ensures quality through:

Oracle Nodes: These monitor and replace miners if needed.
Proof of Inference (PoI): It checks if the correct AI models and hardware were used.
Proof of Useful Work (PoUW): Verifies the completion and accuracy of tasks.
In simple terms, the mining process is like a game where nodes (players) work through levels (tasks), and quality checks ensure everything runs smoothly and fairly.
