Helloooo SCORPionsπ£,
Our deepest apologies for going MIA. But no worriesβ¦ weβre back and better than ever! ππ
And since weβre on the topic of comebacks, delays, and taking your time...
Meet todayβs inspiring hero:
π Wisdom Wednesday π
π¨ββοΈDr. Toh Hong Keng , a Doctor at 70 π©Ί
After a full career in tech sales, Dr. Toh chased a lifelong dream of studying medicine in his mid-60s. At 70, he graduated from Southwestern University.
The journey wasnβt easy, rather challenging with slower memory, tougher exams and long hospital shifts.
π¬ His motto? βSayangβ, a Filipino word meaning βit would be a shameβ. A shame to give up. A shame to stop dreaming.
βItβs never too late to pursue what sets your soul on fire. Age is just a number; purpose is timeless. β³π‘

Study stress = βbrain feverβ? π§ π₯
Did you knowβ
Back in the 1800s, students and scholars believed intense studying could cause βbrain feverβ, a vague diagnosis for headaches, anxiety, and exhaustion. Their βtreatmentsβ included leeches and cold baths! π΅βπ«π©Έ
Opening a leech shop right next to a medical school wouldβve made someone instantly richπ.
Thankfully, weβve come a long way since then. Burnout is real and itβs definitely not cured by bloodletting.
π‘ Hereβs the real deal:
Burnout is tough, but itβs okay to take breaks, get enough sleep, and ask for help. Treat your mental health like your textbooks, with care and respect ππ

In Samoa, forgetting your wifeβs birthday isnβt just a relationship no-no, itβs illegal! ππ«
Yes, you read that right. The law there says if you donβt remember the big day, you could actually face legal consequences.
So if you want to keep the peace at home (and avoid any unexpected courtroom drama), maybe just mark that calendar twice or set 10 remindersππ.
Itβs a wild way to enforce peace at home . So, next time you forget, just remember: this isnβt just about hurt feelings, itβs about legal peacekeepingβ¦ and yes, probably lots of cakeπβ¨

When no one else would speak up, Dr.Mona Hanna-Attisha did. π©ββοΈ
In 2015, she revealed that children in Flint, Michigan, were being poisoned by lead-contaminated waterβa crisis that began in 2014 after the city changed its water source without proper treatment. Officials denied the problem, but she chose to speak out. π’
She worked tirelessly to gather evidence and push for urgent action to protect vulnerable children. π©Ίβ€οΈ
βThe most important thing I ever did was listen to the voice that said, βDo whatβs right. Even if you stand alone!ββ β¨
Her research was dismissed.
She faced criticism, but she kept going, because children's health mattered more than her comfort.
π This reminds us: Medicine isnβt just about treating illness, itβs about standing for justice and defending the right to health, especially for the unheard. βοΈπ

In 1979, during the International Year of the Child, French humanitarian Jean-Pierre HockΓ© took Biquette on a journey across borders to raise awareness about childrenβs rights. π§π
And guess what?

In Switzerland, owning just one guinea pig isnβt allowed! πΉπ«
Why?
Because guinea pigs are social creatures, and keeping one alone is considered animal neglect. The law sees them as βvictims of loneliness,β so you must have at least two to keep each other company.
Itβs a sweet reminder that laws can protect emotional well-being too, not just for humans, but for our furry friends!
So, if you ever become a guinea pig parent, remember: itβs double the whiskers, double the funβ¦ and double the hay bills ππ.
