Wisdom Wednesday
Martin Luther King Jr.
πβ¨Martin Luther King Jr. was an American civil rights leader who fought against racial segregation and injustice in the United States.
π Born in 1929, he became a Baptist minister and led nonviolent protests inspired by Mahatma Gandhiβs philosophy.
βοΈHe played a key role in the Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955β1956), the March on Washington (1963), and the passage of the Civil Rights Act (1964). His famous βI Have a Dreamβ speech called for equality and justice for all.
πIn 1964, he won the Nobel Peace Prize for his peaceful resistance to racial discrimination. Tragically, he was assassinated in 1968, but his legacy continues to inspire movements for justice worldwide.
π£ "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
βHis story teaches us that peaceful resistance, courage, and persistence can bring about real change.

Today, we honor Dr. Andualem Dagne: A True legacy
From earning his Doctor of Medicine at Jimma University with the highest grade and a gold medal π to excelling in General Surgery at Bahir Dar University and completing a fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery at Addis Ababa University, Dr. Andualemβs dedication to medicine was unmatched. ππ
As Head of Surgical Services at Tebebe Ghion Specialized Hospital, his influence on healthcare and education was immense, leaving a legacy through the lives he touched. π±
War and instability steal the brightest among us. Dr. Andualemβs tragic loss reminds us of the dangers healthcare workers face in conflict zones.
As the Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace, we stand for the safety of doctors worldwide. "Save the lives of those who save lives" is our call to action. βοΈπ
