SCOME-AA's will be Closing its 2022/23 term to give way to incoming Brighter and more energetic Leaders who will take SCOME-AA to Even greater heights.
In commemoration of this Transition The 2022/23 term will be having its Last Dance onJanuary 28th 2023 ( #The_Closer )- The Coming Saturday.

SCOME-AA this Term Has Had a lot of Projects which we will be hearing about starting from Today: to put it in a nutshell.
SCOME has had 2 types of Projects:
1. Those which don't prepare events
2. Those Which prepare events:- which gave rise to
โจโจโจโจThe SCOME Canvasโจโจโจโจ
The Idea of SCOME Canvas was born onApril 25th 2022.
The idea was simple; our team was faced with the challenge of having many projects that were difficult to create a single narrative around. We needed a way to tie them all together and make sense of the work we were doing, and what better way to do that than through the art of painting?
Every event was a painting, a splash of color on our canvas. Team Mental Health Awareness was team green, Hidden Curriculum was team white, and so on. Every time a project had an event, they would make a painting. And by the end of it all, we had a collage of colors that would make Van Gogh's Starry Night look less starry๐.

๐ข SCOME Team Green, Mental health awareness
๐It was launched to create awareness about mental health, among medical students.
๐ It was the first project to be launched under SCOME canvas
๐ We chose the color green because it symbolizes new beginnings, growth, and vibrant health, which we believe mental health is all about.
๐ The project managers for this were Elizabeth Araya and Hlina Teklu, our secretary; Eleni Mesfin, and Eden Asfaw as our evaluation and monitoring personnel. Our members were Amanuel Solomon, Kenean Gezahegn, and Liyu Theodros.
๐ we first launched our project by organizing a seminar discussing common mental illnesses in general and stress coping mechanisms, which was headlined by Dr. Fikirte Girma, a psychiatrist. The seminar created a safe space for students to ask anything that they wanted. We thank Dr Fikirte for making this seminar enjoyable for students.
๐ We prepared contents focusing on common mental illnesses which were posted on social media. These contents mainly focused on stress, anxiety, and depression. You can find the videos on you tube using this link
๐ On september, world suicide prevention day was celebrated. Taking this into consideration, our team had prepared and posted a video on suicide awareness. You can find the video by clicking this link

โจOn December 6,2022 we had our second session online with Wendwessen Endale on Critical and Creative Thinking were over 20 audiences joined.
โจ Our journey serving and providing you with enlightening sessions was an honor. We thank all the members who were able to attend our sessions.

We all chose to join the medical profession even though with limited knowledge of what it would bring to our lives. But we decided to take the risk, ignoring the naysayers and trusting in our abilities to succeed.
โจDoc 3.0 is a project which focuses on giving high school students facts about medical school. This project aims to provide students with an honest and thorough insight into what medical school entails so they can make an informed decision.
โจ It starts by providing an overview of medical school and its curriculum, highlighting the financial and emotional burdens associated with the profession.
โจ Lastly, Doc 3.0 covers the rewards of a career in medicine, such as job satisfaction, and ability to make a difference in other people's lives.
โจ It was a joyous occasion when we had the chance to speak with the grade 12 higher23 high school students. We shared our experiences and knowledge, answering their questions and giving them support for their future careers.

Addressing the lack of structured guidance for medical students.
๐๐พ The Journey of medical school can be very cumbersome... too much to do... too many different ways to do them. The guidance of someone who has traveled those terrains before is very crucial.
๐๐พ Advice from upper class students has always been unstructured and highly dependent on how much people we know... everyone tells you many different things on how to do it best.
๐๐พ Orientation Project made it its goal to create a scaffolding for all the different advice from upper class students and build a common narrative which we then can relay to the young minds.
๐๐พ We gave our first Orientation to the Current C1 batch during their Exit exam Prep period, and we have been growing and improving ever since.
