📄 Excerpts from the Concept of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation
#Trends
• Humanity is currently going through revolutionary changes. The formation of a more equitable multipolar world order is underway.
• The changes which are now taking place & which are generally favourable are nonetheless not welcomed by a number of states being used to the logic of global dominance & neocolonialism.
• Serious pressure is being put on the UN & other multilateral institutions the intended purpose of which, as platforms for harmonizing the interests of the leading powers, is artificially devalued.
• Russia does not consider itself to be an enemy of the West, is not isolating itself from the West and has no hostile intentions with regard to it; Russia hopes that in future the states belonging to the Western community will realize that their policy of confrontation and hegemonic ambitions lack prospects.
#Priorities
• Russia is striving towards a system of international relations that would guarantee reliable security, preservation of its cultural & civilizational identity, & equal opportunities for the development for all states.
• Russia consistently advocates strengthening the legal fundamentals of international relations, & faithfully complies with its international legal obligations.

• The most important for the security, stability, territorial integrity & social & economic development of Russia, strengthening its position as one of the influential sovereign centres of world development and civilization is to ensure sustainable long-term good-neighbourly relations & to combine the strengths in various fields with the CIS member states.
• Russia aims at further strengthening the comprehensive partnership & the strategic cooperation with China.
• Russia will continue to build up a particularly privileged strategic partnership with India.
• Russia seeks to transform Eurasia into a continental common space of peace, stability, mutual trust, development & prosperity.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s address to the readers of the monograph History of Ukraine
💬 Allow me to introduce the monograph History of Ukraine, prepared by a team of Russian historians and publicists. The authors touch upon an issue that seems quite topical in present-day conditions, and they assess the stages in the historical development of the area now comprising modern Ukraine.
☝️ It is no secret that years of efforts by Ukrainian radical nationalists and their Western handlers have created a multitude of historical myths and falsifications, and they continue to create them today.
False interpretations of history serve to form a mistaken public perception that Ukraine developed separately from Russia.
❗️This is why we need to preserve and, if necessary, restore historical truth. It is intended that this monograph will make a contribution to these noble efforts.

☝️This year the Council has convened on the DPRK five times – in different formats and upon request by certain states. As a responsible Presidency, Russia accommodated the request of some delegations for another meeting on this subject matter.
However in our national capacity, we strongly oppose the trend towards mainstreaming such Security Council meetings for the purpose of propaganda and exerting pressure.

We assume that a steep growth of military activity in the North-East Asia has been caused by the irresponsible goal of Washington and its allies to enhance sanctions-based and forceful pressure on Pyongyang as part of the so-called extended deterrence strategy.
❗️ This being said, a question begs itself about the goals that Washington and the allies are pursuing. Coupled with the promotion by the United States of its unilateral security doctrine in Asia Pacific, and its desire to draw more division lines in this region, the expedited militarization of North-East Asia is assuming a clearly destructive character. Particularly indicative was the creation of AUKUS (the partnership of the US, UK, and Australia), whose plans raise grave concerns, i.a. in the context of NPT observance.

🇷🇺🇨🇳 Together with China, we repeatedly offered concrete initiatives aimed at searching for acceptable-to-all solutions and settlement of the situation on the Korean Peninsula given proper account for the interests of all sides. Our proposals remain on the table, and we remain ready for a substantive discussion.

🌐 The CIS Foreign Ministers Council held its meeting in a business-like and trust-based atmosphere, which is the way it should be among friends. We focused on the international situation, which has achieved an unprecedented level of escalation due to the hybrid war unleased by the West to secure its global dominance & to halt objective processes paving the way to the emergence of a multipolar world order.
📃 Russia’s Foreign Policy Concept reserves a special place for promoting wide-reaching partnerships across Eurasia. Organisations in this space, including the #CIS, the #CSTO, the #EAEU & the #SCO have a special role to play in these efforts.
🇺🇳 As regards political matters, we spoke out strongly in favour of respecting the UN Charter & refraining from singling out some of the provisions from it, while failing to comply with others, as is the case for our Western colleagues.
🔹 Despite the sanctions the West has imposed on Russia & Belarus, & despite the fact that the US & the EU have been trying to intimidate all our partners into stopping to work with Russia & Belarus & to impose the so-called secondary sanctions or punish them by other means, trade within the CIS has been on the rise.
🔹 During his visit to Beijing, President of Brazil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva spoke at a news conference, calling for a move away from the US dollar & reliance on national currencies in mutual trade. This tendency is irreversible.
❗️ Ukraine is used as an expendable product. The stake of the West is not to allow a single event to cast doubt on its claims to dominate the world order.

🇷🇺🇧🇷 On April 17, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited the Federative Republic of Brazil as part of his trip to Latin America.
During the visit, which was marked by the traditionally friendly atmosphere of the bilateral relations, Sergey Lavrov...
🤝 was received by President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva;
🤝 met with Chief Advisor of the Presidency Celso Amorim;
🤝 had talks with Foreign Minister of Brazil Mauro Vieira.
The Foreign Minister gave a lecture at Rio Branco Institute, Brazil’s diplomatic academy.
During the talks at the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, the Parties gave a detailed analysis of joint efforts to strengthen the #RussiaBrazil strategic partnership and discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the political, material, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
👉 Special focus was placed on the key issues on the global and regional agendas, including bilateral cooperation at multilateral organisations, above all at the United Nations and its Security Council, #BRICS and #G20.
🌐 The Parties reaffirmed their intention to continue the coordination between the foreign ministries of the two countries, in particular, on aligning their approaches in the international arena. They set a tentative schedule of contacts at various levels for the coming period.

In particular, he met with Minister of Commerce and Industry of India Piyush Goyal. The parties discussed current issues and prospects for cooperation in such industries as railway and heavy machinery, aircraft building, shipbuilding, metallurgy and the chemical industry.
Denis Manturov invited Piyush Goyal and the Indian enterprises to take part in the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM in July 2023 in Yekaterinburg. The need to intensify the work on the preparation of a free trade agreement between the EAEU and India to increase and diversify trade turnover was also noted.
During the meeting with Minister of Finance of the Republic of India Nirmala Sitharaman, the necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted mutual settlements, primarily with the use of national currencies, were discussed. Mutual interest in concluding a Russian-Indian agreement on the encouragement and mutual protection of investment was noted.
At a meeting with National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India Ajit Doval, an exchange of views took place on priority areas for the development of Russian-Indian cooperation.

🏅 The XVII International Tchaikovsky Competition, one of the most prestigious contests of classical music in the world and the oldest in Russia, is to take place on June 19 – July 1, 2023. The event is organized with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
☝️ The main purpose of the Competition is to reveal new talent. First held more than 50 years ago, the contest has spawned a great number of prominent pianists, violinists, cellists, singers etc. Van Cliburn, Denis Matsuev, Gidon Kremer, Mario Brunello and many other renowned musicians gained worldwide recognition with the help of Tchaikovsky Competition.
