Following today’s 🇷🇺/🇺🇦 talks in Instanbul Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky commented on barbaric violations by Ukrainian nationalists of the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War:

💬: At this point I can say that we’ve voiced our protest regarding the recent videos of Russian soldiers being tortured. The Ukrainian side has accepted this protest. They’ve promised to take the most severe measures against the war criminals. If they are the first to catch them, that is.

If our soldiers are the first to catch them, well, you get the idea. We’ve made ourselves heard.

A favorite tactic among terrorists and Ukrainian nationalists alike - using civilians and civilian infrastructure (residential buildings, schools, hospitals, churches, shopping malls, etc) as “human shields”.

The video 👆 shows a few examples of how Ukrainian nationalists recklessly endanger the lives of 🇺🇦 civilians.

Statement by a representative of the Russian Federation during the interactive dialogue on the human rights situation in Ukraine

(Geneva, March 30, 2022)

We are extremely concerned with the mass violations of international humanitarian law and human rights by the Ukrainian military.

In Mariupol, militants of the Azov and the Right Sector nationalistic battalions fired at refugees who were trying to leave the city en route to Russia. Firing positions were established in residential buildings, the residents of which were either evicted or eliminated. The militants also used 150 civilians walking in front of them as "human shields".

On March 13, 300 civilians were taken hostage in Nikolskoye settlement during the retreat of the Aidar battalion.

All these atrocities against civilians are carried out using weapons supplied by Western countries.

We call on the High Commissioner and the OHCHR to assess these facts.

Aide to the President of Russia Vladimir Medinsky comments on the results of 🇷🇺/🇺🇦 talks in Istanbul on March 29:

Yesterday, the Kiev authorities, for the first time in all of the previous years, declared their readiness to reach agreements with Russia.

They gave us the written principles of a possible future agreement.

They include:

♦️ Refusal to join NATO

♦️ Commitment to the non-aligned status of Ukraine

♦️ Renunciation of nuclear weapons, as well as possessing, acquiring and developing of other weapons of mass destruction

♦️ Refusal to deploy foreign military bases and military contingents

♦️ Commitment to hold military drills with foreign military participation only upon agreement with the guarantor-states, among which will be the Russian Federation

‼️ I would like to especially emphasize that our country’s principled stance regarding Crimea and Donbass remains unchanged.

Statement of the Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine

(March 30, 2022)

The humanitarian situation in a number of settlements controlled by official Kiev continues to deteriorate rapidly, while the most critical situation today is in Kharkov.

We appeal to the leaders of the UN, OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organizations to urge the Kiev authorities to fulfill their humanitarian obligations not only in Kharkov, but also in other settlements of Ukraine.

Over the past day, without the participation of the Kiev authorities, 20,495 people were evacuated to Russia from dangerous areas of Ukraine, Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, of which 3,384 children, and in total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 509,425 people have already been evacuated, of which 104,807 are children. 111,865 people have already been rescued from Mariupol, including 3,063 people over the past day.

Statement by a representative of the Russian Federation as a “right of reply” during the discussion on Agenda Item 10 on the human rights situation in Ukraine

I would like to respond to the EU countries, the US, Canada, Australia and other delegations supporting their stances, by quoting "heroes" of modern Ukraine and use their publicly available statements. Of those, whom you praise so much.

These are the people who are being supplied with lethal weapons by the EU countries and the US.

It is also high time for the High Commissioner and the OHCHR to take into account and evaluate such Nazi statements, as well as the actions of Western countries supporting these people. However, Ms. Bachelet remains persistently silent about all of this.

Russain Ministry of Defense:

Every day from 10 o'clock in the morning (from March 4), the opening of humanitarian corridors continues in the Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov and Mariupol directions: one to Russia and one through the territories controlled by the Kiev authorities towards the western borders of Ukraine.

Over the past day, the Russian Armed Forces, without the participation of the Ukrainian authorities, have evacuated 18,182 people to Russia from dangerous areas of Ukraine, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics, 3,412 of them children, and since the beginning of the special military operation, 527,607 people have already been evacuated, of which 108,219 are children.

Ambassador Gennady Gatilov at the plenary session of the Conference on Disarmament

(March 31, 2022)

The Ukrainian authorities gave the Pentagon a "carte blanche" to operate on the territory of Ukraine and allowed them to independently conduct dangerous bioexperiments there. While military biological research on the territory of the US was curtailed due to the danger to the American population, the Kiev authorities, in fact, didn’t mind turning their country into a testing ground and using Ukrainian citizens as potential test subjects. These experiments posing potential threat nationwide have been going on for years.

I would like to emphasize that biological threats know no boundaries simply due to their nature. Today, no region of the world can feel safe. The US controls over 300 biological laboratories located in 30 countries.

All the evidence hints to the idea that the US not only conducts military biological research, but also considers a possibility of using this type of WMD.

As soon as the Syrian topic is brought up, we immediately witness the policy of "double standards". The resolution that drags on from session to session, despite cosmetic changes, remains nothing but a politically biased opus, pursuing only one goal – to exert additional pressure on Damascus. This document, adopted three times a year, makes zero positive contribution and has nothing to do with the true motives of ensuring human rights.

The proposed text confirms commitment to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria. Nevertheless, the authors did not bother inserting a single word about the occupation of significant territories of this country by their NATO allies, as well as about their sponsorship of separatist sentiments in the controlled territories.

The reasons for such a narrow-minded approach lie on the surface - the authors do not benefit from criticizing the actions of their allies.

The Russian Federation consistently opposes any politicization of technical assistance in the field of promotion and protection of human rights and its use for solving geopolitical problems.

Draft resolution L.27 submitted for consideration by the Council is a clear example of the abuse of the Council's Agenda Item 10, under which this document was introduced. In particular, it focuses exclusively on Abkhazia and South Ossetia, contains political assessments of the processes taking place in these independent states. At the same time, the document does not even hint at the human rights situation in Georgia itself, which would require technical assistance.

The authors of the project are once again using a UN platform to promote politicized documents, taking advantage of the absence of representatives of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Today the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to Geneva shared with us a letter from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The document (kindly translated into 🇷🇺) was addressed to our diplomats “who have a conscience and mantain the capacity to recognize evil”. In essence, it disregarded basic diplomatic ethics and openly called for us to “abandon ship” and commit acts of treason.

And it’s not an April Fools joke…

Today the Russian Defense Ministry published a statement dismissing Ukrainian allegations on “Russian atrocities committed in the city of Bucha”.

1) The Russian military left the city on March 30, the very next day after the 🇷🇺/🇺🇦 talks in Istanbul.

2) This fact was confirmed by the city’s mayor, who didn’t report on any bodies lying in the streets or elsewhere.

3) The allegations first appeared only on the fourth day, when the Ukrainian Security Service along with the Ukrainian media arrived in the city.

4) The bodies shown seem surprisingly “fresh”, they couldn’t have been lying in the streets for over 4 days.

In other words, they’ve been spreading hatred towards 🇷🇺 and other minorities living in Ukraine for a while.

Here’s Anatoliy Fedoruk, the mayor of Bucha, reporting on March 31 that the city is free from the Russian troops, who withdrew the day before.
