📅 #OTD 4️⃣1️⃣0️⃣ years ago the people's militia liberated our Motherland's capital - Moscow - from the Polish-Lithuanian invaders.
Travel through time and learn of the Day's origins 👉 in our article.
🇷🇺 In this regard, to commemorate our roots, in all corners of our vast country, the Day of National Unity is celebrated.
☝️ In fact, the holiday is not new. In the history of Russia, it was celebrated in the period from 1613 to 1917. It was established by Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov in honour of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, which accompanied the liberators of Moscow.
💬 President Vladimir Putin: National Unity Day celebrates the core, fundamental values we can all relate to: sincere love for our Motherland, respecting our ancestors, seeking to be worthy of their war feats and remarkable achievements, and good citizens of their country, working to develop it and for the benefit of our people. The traditions to care for our Motherland and being ready to stand up for it and defend it are intrinsic for our multi-ethnic, millions-strong nation.

⚡️ Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the adoption by the Third Committee at the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly of the resolution on combating glorification of Nazism
Read in full
✅ On November 4, the Third Committee at the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York adopted the resolution on “Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance,” which was introduced by the Russian Federation.
❗️The resolution was coauthored by another 31 nations. 105 states voted in favour of the resolution, 52 delegations opposed it, and 15 countries abstained.
The resolution once again condemned glorification of the Nazi movement and the whitewashing of former members of the SS organisation. Deep concern was expressed about an ongoing war in some countries against monuments erected in remembrance of liberator soldiers and those who fought against Nazism and fascism. At the same time, deep indignation was expressed over marches to glorify Nazis and their proxies.
This year, the adoption of this important document was marred by Western countries’ open attempts to politicise the matter and settle accounts with Russia against the backdrop of the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
⚠️ This time, the “collective West,” specifically the EU countries, where all the above-mentioned violations occur on a systematic basis, have cast aside the last attempts to cover up their refusal to support the resolution by absurd references to freedom of speech and assembly, and voted against the international effort to combat aggressive manifestations of racism and xenophobia.
The positions of Germany and Japan are a matter of special concern.
❗️ The voting results have demonstrated the unfaltering support of the international community for the traditional Russian initiative, which is submitted to the UNGA annually.

Russian President Vladimir Putin at #Valdai2022:
🔹 The neoliberal American-style model of international order goes through a doctrinal crisis. They have no ideas for progress and positive development. They simply have nothing to offer the world, except preserving their dominance.
🔹 A true democracy in a multipolar world means the ability of any nation, any society or civilisation to follow its own path and organise its own socio-political system. If the US and the EU countries enjoy this right, then the countries of Asia, the Islamic states, the monarchies of the Persian Gulf, and countries on other continents certainly have this right as well.
❗ Russia also has this right, and no one will ever be able to tell our people what kind of society we should be building and what principles should underlie it.
🔹 A direct threat to the political, economic and ideological monopoly of the West lies in the fact that the world can come up with alternative social models that are more effective.

🔹 Global power is exactly what the so-called West has at stake. The game it plays is certainly dangerous, bloody and even “dirty”. No one, except those who create the”rules” for the “rules-based world order”, is entitled to retain their identity - the rest must simply comply.
🌐 There can be no illusions - the crisis has indeed taken on a global dimension and has affected everyone. Sitting things out can hardly work in the modern world.
↔️ Humankind is at a crossroads: either keep accumulating problems and eventually break under their weight, or work together to find solutions, even the imperfect ones. As long as they work – they can make our world a safer and more stable place.
🔹 I have always believed in the power of common sense. I am convinced that eventually both the new centres of the multipolar international order and the West will have to start a dialogue on an equal footing about a common future for us all. The sooner the better.

🔹 Even at the highest peak of the Cold War, amidst the confrontation of the two systems, ideologies and military rivalry, it did not occur to anyone to deny the very existence of culture, art, and science of other peoples, their opponents.
❌ Today, the liberal ideology has changed beyond recognition. If initially, classic liberalism implied the freedom of every person to do and say as they desired, the liberals in the 20th century started saying that the so-called “open society” had enemies and that the freedom of these enemies could and should be restricted if not cancelled.
❗️ It has reached the absurd point where any alternative opinion is declared subversive propaganda and a “threat to democracy”.
📚 History will certainly put everything in its rightful place and will know whom to cancel. It will definitely not be the greatest works of universally recognised world culture geniuses, but those who want to cancel them.

🇺🇳🇺🇦 UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten talked the other day with a Ukrainian legislator Aleksandr Mereshko Russian pranksters Vovan and Leksus.
💻 During their lengthy conversation, the UN official claimed that she was spreading information on the “rapes”committed by the Russian servicemen “equipped with Viagra and other drugs” in Ukraine based solely on Ukrainian reports.
🤷🏻 No investigation was carried out, zero proof was provided, since who needs actual facts these days?
❌ As Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted, Ms. Patten proceeded to completely disavow her impartiality, citing iron-clad arguments: “I want to once again declare my full support and the support of my office to the government of Ukraine and the people of Ukraine. On May 3 in Kiev, I signed a framework agreement on cooperation with the government of Ukraine.”

Key takeaways from Russian Deputy FM Sergey Vershinin’s interview with TASS and RIA Novosti:
❗️ Russia has not made its final decision on extending the “grain deal” (expires on November 19). It will be taking into account the implementation of the Russia-UN Memorandum, as well as the Ukrainian terrorist attacks in Crimea and Sevastopol.
🔹 Yesterday’s negotiations can be described as positive, lengthy, beneficial and detailed.
🔹 We strongly emphasize the need to accelerate the adoption of all measures, so that the actual access of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to the world markets is ensured.
🔹 Possible opening of correspondent accounts in Citibank and JPMorgan is regarded as a temporary measure.
🔹 Reconnecting the Russian Agricultural Bank to SWIFT is one of the key issues and solutions. Without this step we simply cannot move forward.
🔹 Russia calls on the UN to make the best of every day in order to achieve tangible results in implementation of the Russia-UN Memorandum.

Russian officials on the incident with a Ukrainian S-300 air defense missile in the Polish village of Przewodow:
Dmitry Peskov, Spokesman of the Russian President:
🎙 We have witnessed another hysterical, rabid Russophobic reaction that wasn’t based on any real data. High-ranking representatives of different countries made premature statements without having a clue of what had really happened. Once again, such frenzied reaction shows that it is never a good idea to rush with assessments that can escalate the situation, especially at such crucial moments.
Maria Zakharova, Spokeswoman of the Russian MFA:
🗣 On the Western claims that “If it wasn’t for Russia – none of it would’ve happened”:
🎙 I’m not sure about the “none of it” part, but most of it definitely wouldn’t have happened if the US and NATO didn’t favour coups and regime changes in Ukraine, installing puppet politicians, turning boxers into mayors and clowns into presidents while paying for the dirty work with citizenship and money.

⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry Statement on false accusations of Russia's involvement in the missile incident in Poland.
In connection with two missiles landing in the territory of the Republic of Poland on November 15, 2022 near the Polish-Ukrainian border, the Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation immediately provided comprehensive clarification on Russia’s armed forces not being involved in this incident.
Despite this, we have noted an outrageous public reaction to the incident in a number of NATO countries and the media which, without looking into the situation, scrambled as one to spread absolutely fake and unfounded allegations about Russia potentially being responsible. The Western organisations held “consultations” which gave rise to a new wave of unsubstantiated accusations, which, however, quickly subsided.
We see this mayhem as a deliberate effort made as part of a systematic anti-Russia campaign conducted by the West around Ukraine. At the same time, the speed with which accusations against Russia were made by the Kiev regime is notable.
Kiev seems to take every opportunity to blame Russia and to try to consolidate Western support as the Zelensky regime appears to have tired its patrons. In addition, the preliminary data about this incident point to Ukraine.
❗️ We are confident that an impartial investigation and publication of the results will expose the facts of this provocation.

🔸 We welcome the Türkiye and UN-brokered two Istanbul Agreements signed on 22 July 2022. We emphasize the importance of their full, timely and continued implementation by all relevant stakeholders.
🔸 We highlight other efforts that ensure the flow of agri-food goods such as the EU Solidarity Lanes and the Russian donations of fertilizers facilitated by the World Food Programme.
🔸 Recognising our leadership role, and guided by the Bali Compact and the Bali Energy Transition Roadmap, we are committed to finding solutions to achieve energy markets stability, transparency, and affordability.
🔸 We reaffirm our commitment to strengthening the long-term financial resilience of the international financial architecture, including by promoting sustainable capital flows, and developing local currency capital markets.

Excerpts from Ambassador Gennady Gatilov’s interview with Le Temps.
💥 The most recent Russian missile strikes are most certainly a response to the Ukrainian attacks on our territory. Every day they are shelling residential neighborhoods and killing civilians. We can't just stand idly by when this happens on a daily basis.
🌾 Ukraine has turned the “Black Sea Initiative” into a commercial endeavor that allows it to finance its military supplies. Yet the Russian part of the “grain deal” is lagging behind. We welcome the efforts made by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. However, the progress so far has been insufficient.
🇨🇭 Switzerland has renounced its neutral status in order to side with Ukraine and its NATO sponsors. Having recently visited Kiev, the Swiss President Ignazio Cassis once again showed his support for the Kiev regime. I hope that Switzerland will readjust its stance for the sake of its own interests.

⚡️ Press release on the Black Sea initiative for the export of Ukrainian food
The four-party deal by Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Nations, signed in Istanbul on July 22, will expire on November 18. The text of the document provides for its automatic extension for another 120 days in the absence of objections from any of the parties.
No such objections have been received.
The Russian side also allows for the technical extension of the Black Sea initiative without any changes in its terms or scope. Moscow has clearly and openly emphasised that the agreements on Ukrainian food and the effective implementation of the Russian-UN Memorandum on the normalisation of Russian agricultural exports is a package deal, and that remains unchanged.
We took note of the intensification of the UN Secretariat’s effort to fulfil its obligations in this regard and the information provided to us on the intermediate results of its work to remove obstacles to Russian fertiliser and food exports. All these issues must be resolved within 120 days, the period for which the package deal is to be extended.
We note that, after our repeated reminders, efforts have begun to be made towards unblocking the nearly 300,000 tonnes of Russian fertilisers detained in EU ports, which Russia is donating to developing countries in need. Further delay of these urgently needed shipments is unacceptable.
⚠️ It should also be absolutely clear that any attempt to use the humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea for military provocations will receive a harsh response.
We believe that Russia’s considerations and concerns will be fully taken into account in the coming period, which will ensure well-coordinated work without any imbalances and the due result achieved from the full implementation of both Istanbul agreements in the interests of global food security.
