💬 This year we celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in the Second World War.
It is our common duty to cherish the historical memory of those tragic events and the feat of millions of people who died in the name of peace and prosperity for future generations. Their selfless struggle and crushing victory over the ideas of racial superiority and misanthropy symbolize the triumph of the forces of Good over the forces of Evil and cannot be forgotten.
Attempts to revise or distort the outcome of the Second World War, to rehabilitate and glorify the Nazis and their accomplices, and to deny the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by them are categorically unacceptable. According to the decisions of the Nuremberg Tribunal, which legally consolidate the gains of the victory over Nazism, the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices have no statute of limitations.
We strongly condemn the destruction and desecration of monuments and burial sites of liberators of any nationality who laid their lives on the Altar of Victory, wherever these memorial sites are located. We mourn the victims of National Socialism.
We welcome the UN General Assembly resolution adopted on December 19, 2023 on "Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fueling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance". <...>
We call on all countries and peoples to honor the memory of those who fought fascism and Nazism during the Second World War and to respect their exploits.
❗️ Defeated Nazism must not rise again!
