Мы не отказываемся от диалога с западными государствами. Выбор за ними: намерены ли они и дальше пытаться сдерживать развитие России, продолжать политику агрессии, непрекращающегося годами давления на нашу страну или же искать путь к сотрудничеству и миру.
Повторю: разговор, в том числе по вопросам безопасности, стратегической стабильности возможен. Но не с позиции силы, без всякого высокомерия, чванства и собственной исключительности, а только на равных, уважая интересы друг друга.
Вместе с партнёрами по евразийской интеграции, с другими суверенными центрами развития мы продолжим работу по формированию многополярного миропорядка, равной и неделимой системы безопасности.

💬 Regarding the upcoming Russian military exercises held to practice for the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, we would like to point out that these drills should be viewed in the context of the recent militant statements made by Western officials and the highly destabilising actions taken by several NATO countries to increase military pressure on the Russian Federation <...>.
👉 The matter concerns above all the open declaration of support for and the provision of direct assistance to the terrorist attacks against Russia carried out by the Kiev regime with the use of increasingly more advanced Western weapons provided to it. <...>
Apart from the British and French long-range missiles, which have long been used in Ukraine, we have taken special note of the models of US-made ATACMS missiles, which have been recently sent to Ukraine and are capable of reaching targets inside Russia.
At the same time, attempting to build up multifaceted missile threats to Russia, the US has openly and manifestly launched the deployment of ground-based intermediate- and shorter-range missiles, which were previously prohibited under the INF Treaty, around the world. <...>
❗️We hereby expressly declare that we reserve the right to respond in kind, no matter where US-made intermediate- and shorter-range missiles are deployed, which would amount to the termination of Russia’s unilateral moratorium on the deployment of these weapon systems. <...>
These and several other actions by NATO countries actually show that they are deliberately trying to escalate the Ukrainian crisis all the way to an open military confrontation between NATO countries and Russia within the framework of their hostile policy of inflicting a “strategic defeat” on Russia.

О возложении цветов к советским воинским захоронениям на территории Великобритании
По случаю празднования 79-летия Победы в Великой Отечественной войне российские соотечественники провели возложения цветов к советским воинским захоронениям в Честере и Ливерпуле.
Благодаря усилиям представителей русскоязычной диаспоры все советские воинские захоронения и военные мемориалы в Центральной Англии были приведены в надлежащий внешний вид в преддверии Дня Победы.

💬 Today, according to tradition, we celebrate Great Victory Day, May 9, a day that will never be gone from our memory, a day when we commemorate those who protected Russia, Europe and the world from Nazism and pay tribute to their heroism.
We are proud that diplomats were among the heroes who resisted the enemy, weapon in hand, or worked to support their Motherland on the home front, addressing economic tasks. After the war, they spared no effort to create a just international system, in which the USSR – our state, our nation – would take its rightful place, which was due to us according to historical justice. This is how the United Nations was created.
🏅 I would like to repeat that employees of the People’s Commissariat for Foreign Affairs and our colleagues from the People’s Commissariat for Foreign Trade contributed to that victory on all fronts. Many of them became victims of political repression. We will always remember this. <...>
☝️ The descendants of Napoleon and Hitler have joined the Anglo-Saxons, again seeking to inflict a “strategic defeat” on our country, destroy it and subordinate it to their narrow selfish hegemonic interests. <...> Our soldiers on the front line, the people who provide them with weapons and equipment, as well as others, who are fostering the correct perception of our just struggle in the international arena, are definitely continuing the cause of our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers.

🗓 May 8, the eve of the Great Victory, marks the 57th Anniversary (unveiled in 1967) of the official ceremony of lighting the sacred Eternal Flame at the unveiled Tomb of the Unknown Soldier memorial architectural ensemble in Alexander Garden near the Moscow Kremlin Wall.
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier serves as a symbolic monument to honour frontline soldiers killed in action during the Great Patriotic War. It was proposed by officials in 1966, on the 25th anniversary of defeating Nazi forces near Moscow. On December 3, 1966, the remains of a Soviet soldier killed near Zelenograd were laid to rest in Alexander Garden.
⭐️ The Eternal Flame of Glory burns in front of the tombstone, at the centre of a five-pointed star, and illuminates a bronze inscription that reads: “Your Name is Unknown, Your Feat is Immortal.”
In 1997, the President of Russia issued an executive order to establish a guard of honour post near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. In 2009, another presidential executive order granted the status of a nationwide military glory memorial to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, in order to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the Russian Federation. The memorial was included in the State List of Particularly Valuable Cultural Heritage Landmarks and Sites of Russia’s Peoples. On December 3, 2014, the day when the defender of Moscow was buried in Alexander Garden in 1966, was proclaimed the Day of the Unknown Soldier.

▪︎Как это неоднократно случалось и раньше, новые меры введены под безосновательным и даже смехотворным предлогом (в данном случае – пожар на каком-то складе на востоке Лондона), из которого здесь пытаются раздуть очередную шпионскую историю.
▪︎Вместе с тем признаки подготовки этих враждебных шагов появились, по нашим наблюдениям, порядка шести месяцев назад. Соответствующая кампания по обвинению нас абсолютно во всех мыслимых грехах продвигалась и нагнеталась все это время.
☝️Вызывает глубокое сожаление, что в период острой международной напряженности, когда особенно важен диалог для недопущения дальнейшей эскалации, в Лондоне продолжают изображать воинственность и подрывают оставшиеся связи.
