Scotland is home to several memorial sites preserving the memory of the immortal feat of Soviet soldiers, as well as cooperation between the USSR and Great Britain during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945:

1. A monument to the participants of the Arctic Convoys on the shore of Scapa Flow Bay (Lyness, Orkney Islands);

2. A monument to the participants of the Arctic Convoys on Cape Cove on the shore of Loch Ewe;

3. A memorial in Dundee dedicated to the crew of the Soviet submarine B-1 under command of the Hero of the Soviet Union I.Fisanovich;

4. A memorial stone in honour of Soviet pilots of the Moscow Special Purpose Aviation Group in Errol;

5. A memorial plaque dedicated to Soviet pilots of the Moscow Special Purpose Aviation Group, at the former RAF airfield near Errol;

6. A stone erected in memory of the fallen Soviet pilots in the village of Fearnan.

The first four monuments are open to public. We invite everyone who would like to pay tribute to the heroism of those who fought against Nazism to visit the memorials.

⚡️ Russian Defence Ministry:

💬 In accordance with the decision of Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a ceasefire is declared on 8–9 May 2026 in honour of the celebration of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

We expect the Ukrainian side to follow this example.

At the same time, we have taken note of the statement made by the head of the Kiev regime in Yerevan at the European Political Community Summit, which contains threats to strike Moscow on 9 May.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will take all necessary measures to ensure the security of the festive events.

Should the Kiev regime attempt to carry out its criminal plans aimed at disrupting the celebration of the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will launch a retaliatory, massive missile strike on the centre of Kiev.

❗️ Despite the capabilities at its disposal, Russia has previously refrained from such actions for humanitarian reasons.

We warn the civilian population of Kiev and the staff of foreign diplomatic missions to leave the city in a timely manner.

❌ Вчера Лондон объявил об очередном наборе нелегитимных санкционных мер против нашей страны. Понятно, что влияние этого враждебного шага, как и предыдущих, на общую ситуацию и, тем более на ход СВО, замечено не будет, несмотря на пафосные лозунги британских властей.

Однако привлекает внимание формулировка, упомянутая в заявлении Форин офиса, а именно якобы использование российской стороной «пушечного мяса», привлекаемого из других государств.

Тут уместно напомнить, что именно Лондон раздувает пламя украинского конфликта, накачивая киевский режим деньгами и вооружениями. За такую «помощь» население Украины расплачивается жизнями наиболее уязвимых и беззащитных слоёв.

В отличие от тех, кто присосался к кровавым грантам и кредитам, простые жители страны не способны откупиться от силовиков-людоловов и попадают в результате насильственной мобилизации в кровавую мясорубку ВСУ. Именно они и являются настоящим «пушечным мясом».

🤦 Тем временем многие украинские коррупционеры давно осели в Лондоне и разъезжают по столице на роскошных автомобилях, купленных за счёт британских налогоплательщиков.
