🇷🇺🇧🇾 June 25 marks the 32nd Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. On June 25, 1992, the Sides signed a protocol in Minsk, which formalised the intention of both independent states to strengthen trade, political, economic and cultural ties.

🤝 Over the years, our countries have steadily expanded bilateral contacts in all spheres of collaboration and have confidently progressed towards building the Union State. In the current complicated environment, the Sides have achieved an entirely new level of Russian-Belarusian integration.

Trade volumes are steadily increasing. Russia, as the main trade partner of Belarus, accounts for about 60 percent of the country’s trade balance. In 2023, bilateral trade expanded by over 5 percent and reached a record-breaking $46.5 billion.

The Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus share approaches to the majority of global and regional issues, and provide each other with comradely assistance at various multilateral platforms.

Excerpts from a Joint Statement by the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on the main objectives of the foreign policy dimension of Union integration (Minsk, June 24, 2024):

We, the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, met on June 24, 2024, in Minsk ahead of the Anniversary of diplomatic relations between our allied states. We acknowledged the unprecedented level of collaboration and trust between Russia and Belarus, as well as our readiness for continued close coordination of foreign policy actions, based on the common interests of our countries.

🎊 We wholeheartedly congratulate our colleagues and the fraternal peoples of our countries on this shared holiday!

⚡️ Foreign Ministry’s statement on retaliatory measures following EU restrictions against Russian media outlets

💬 In response to the May 17 decision of the EU Council, banning broadcasting by three Russian media outlets, including RIA Novosti, Izvestia MIC and Rossiyskaya Gazeta, effective from today, June 25, countermeasures are being introduced that limit access to broadcasting resources in the Russian Federation for media outlets of the EU member states and EU media operators that systemically spread false information about the special military operation.

The Russian Side has repeatedly warned at various levels that politically motivated persecution of Russian journalists and unjustified bans on Russian media outlets in the EU will not go unanswered.

This notwithstanding, Brussels and the capitals of the bloc’s countries preferred to further escalate the situation. By imposing another illegitimate ban, they forced Moscow to introduce symmetrical and proportional countermeasures. Responsibility for these developments rests solely with the EU leadership and the countries of this association that have supported this decision.

The Russian Side will revise its decision concerning the above-mentioned media operators, if restrictions against Russian media outlets are lifted.

👉 A list of media outlets of the EU member states and EU media operators, covered by retaliatory measures and restrictions limiting broadcasts and internet access on the territory of the Russian Federation.

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during a meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko (Minsk, June 25, 2024)

💬 We appreciate the invitation to visit the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus as part of the Russian Foreign Ministry delegation’s official visit to the Republic of Belarus.

I would like to congratulate you in person on your election to this post in March. Without a doubt, you will focus your efforts not only on promoting the interests of the Republic of Belarus, but also the interests of the Union State. With 28 union programmes under its belt, the union’s integration processes have clearly picked up momentum over the past several years.

All of these programmes rely on solid legal framework. New goals have been set. Our countries have approved 31 priority areas for 2024-2026, which contain several hundred measures to be acted upon. Importantly, this work needs foreign policy support.

Yesterday, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Aleinik and I adopted a Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus on the key goals of the foreign policy dimension of the union integration of Russia and Belarus. We reviewed the status of the implementation of the action plan.

On a separate note, yesterday, we signed an expanded petition to the heads of several Eurasian organisations with a proposal to join in the development of a concept of continental security, which will be open to all Eurasian countries and have these countries themselves decide on ways to ensure reliable and indivisible security without the involvement of regional forces. All Euro-Atlantic security models failed miserably in matters of ensuring equality. As a matter of fact, all of them have been put at the service of the United States and its allies.

In preparation for the second High-Level International Conference “Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World” to be held this autumn, to which I was kindly invited (I will definitely go there), we will hold consultations with our Belarusian friends and other invitees. We will do our best to bring onboard sub-regional entities such as #CSTO, #CIS, #SCO, #ASEAN, #GCC, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia. The agenda is quite fulfilling.

🕯 I appreciate your offering condolences in connection with the heinous criminal terrorist attacks in Dagestan and Sevastopol. We made tough demarches to the United States, because there is no doubt that without at least their tacit approval, and in fact direct technological participation, the terrorist attacks in Sevastopol would not have been possible.

The reaction to these atrocities coming from Washington and the European Union reveals that they will stoop to anything, including outright terrorism, in their ephemeral attempts to inflict a “strategic defeat” on the Russian Federation in every sense of these words.

I have no doubt whatsoever that the people of Europe do not need this at all. They need to address their own issues. However, the US-led elites have united behind yet another idea (after Napoleon and Hitler) to enslave and subjugate our country.

🤝 Just like we joined hands with our Belarusian friends to respond to the invaders before, there is no doubt that the Russian army and the people, with the support of Belarus and our other allies, will achieve every goal that President Vladimir Putin has set as part of the special military operation.

🎙️Embassy comment on attempts to whitewash NATO's role in the ongoing European security crisis

︎We took note of the hypocritical attempt by the UK Ministry of Defence to portray NATO as a guardian of peace, security, and freedom, while casting Russia as the "aggressor".

︎This dubious claim is contradicted by basic post-Cold War facts. Primarily, the full-scale armed aggression by NATO against Yugoslavia in 1999, followed by the unlawful secession of part of its territory, in violation of the UN Charter and other fundamental norms of international law.

︎NATO's key member states were extensively engaged in aggressive campaigns against Iraq and Libya, employing the alliance's infrastructure and military capabilities to serve their aims. <...>

︎To this set of "achievements" should be added the infamous decisions of the 2008 NATO Summit in Bucharest, alleging that Ukraine and Georgia would eventually become members of NATO. <...>

︎The alliance's activities neither contain a positive agenda nor contribute to maintaining peace and security. A telling example is the abandonment of promises made to the leadership of the former USSR to create a space of common and indivisible security in Europe. Instead, the West chose a strategy of expanding its sphere of exclusive influence under NATO’s military-political umbrella. <...>

︎The leadership of the alliance and its key member states played a decisive role in igniting and sustaining the Ukrainian conflict, aimed solely at containing and inflicting a "strategic defeat" upon Russia. The unconstitutional coup d’etat in 2014 which brought into power Ukrainian nationalists with their Nazi cult of Bandera and Shukhevich; the burning of the Trade union house in Odessa; the eight-year military siege of Donbass and the blockade of Russian Crimea; the suppression of the Russian language and Orthodoxy; <...>

︎and, as of today, overt terrorist raids and shelling of peaceful Russian cities with NATO-supplied weapons, such as the strike on Sevastopol on Sunday – all these are links in a chain extending to Washington DC, London and Brussels.

☝️Attempts by the UK Ministry of Defence to cloak NATO's aggressive posture with "sheep’s clothing" of its own making are unconvincing. Russia has never threatened nor threatens any NATO country. On the contrary, as Western decision-makers and NATO officials continually tell us, it is NATO that has for many years been preparing for conflict with Russia.

In view of these circumstances our country will persevere in its efforts to assure its essential security interests on its western borders.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s statement and answers to media questions at a joint news conference following talks with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Aleinik (Minsk, June 24, 2024)

💬 Sergey Lavrov: I would like to once again express my gratitude to our Belarusian friends for your warm hospitality and excellent arrangements during my official trip to the Republic of Belarus.

Our talks were held in a trust-based and friendly atmosphere, were quite substantive and covered an extensive number of issues.

We focused on important international matters. We compared notes on numerous aspects of bilateral cooperation, including interministerial interaction and foreign policy alignment.

Key talking points:

• Our absolute priorities include foreign policy support for the Union integration and strengthening international positions of the Union State, the 25th Anniversary of which we will celebrate on December 8, 2024.

• We will provide every bit of assistance to our Belarusian allies in order to get them fully onboard at the #SCO and various #BRICS mechanisms as soon as possible.

• We condemn the Western countries’ actions that have led to the Ukraine crisis and the final collapse of the security system in Europe, based on the Euro-Atlantic principles. In this context, we have paid special attention to the prospects for creating a new architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia, inviting all countries in our common continent to cooperate in this process.

• Our proposal [on Eurasian security] is addressed to all those who are willing to consider the prospect for creating a new security system on an equitable basis with regard for the interests of all countries on the continent and based on the balance of these interests, excluding any outside interference.

• We reiterated our commitment to jointly uphold traditional values and the historical truth, and to prevent the rewriting of history and the glorification of Nazism.

• We noted the counterproductive consequences of politicising international cultural, humanitarian, scientific and sports relations.

• We focused on creating a common Union State space in defence and security. We noted that the joint regional grouping of troops and forces deployed in the Republic, as well as advanced Russian defence complexes and tactical nuclear weapons which reliably shield our common western borders in accordance with the decisions of the presidents of the two countries, are quite helpful in achieving this goal.

🎙️Embassy comment regarding the developments surrounding Julian Assange

︎We regard the release of Julian Assange from custody on June 24 in London as the rectification of one of the many injustices faced by the founder of WikiLeaks. Hopefully, this will enable the journalist to improve his severely compromised health due to his incarceration in a British prison and to resume a normal life.

︎Nevertheless, this event is evidently the result of agreements between Mr Assange and the US side, and it remains to be seen whether Washington DC will fulfill its part of the bargain. In any case British justice can claim no credit for this outcome. The authorities initially decided to deprive the journalist of his freedom and to extradite him, and subsequently missed the opportunity to take a principled stand against this unjust and illegitimate course of action.

︎Throughout these years, they have acted in the interests of the United States, undertaking the "dirty work" of isolating Mr Assange as part of a collective persecution that trampled on the fundamental principles of freedom of speech and human rights. Now, they have simply responded to a directive from across the Atlantic.

☝️The British government and judicial system will forever bear the responsibility for the more than five years that the founder of WikiLeaks spent in the harshest conditions of solitary confinement in a high-security prison, conditions more befitting terrorists, and the repercussions this has had for him personally and for his family, as well as for global journalism and independent media at large.

✍️ President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent greetings to the participants, organisers, and guests of the 12th St Petersburg International Legal Forum (June 26, 2024)

💬 The extensive agenda and impressive composition of the forum have made your meetings a major social event. In the course of substantive discussions, prominent legal scholars, experts, and practicing lawyers will exchange experience, discuss legislative innovations and initiatives and expand their professional contacts.

Russia invariably defends the principle of the rule of law both in its domestic life and in the international arena. I firmly believe that in present-day conditions, the generally accepted laws remain a solid foundation on which we should build to promote stability on the planet and protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, as well as human and civil rights and freedoms. The key role of law is undeniable in solving global and regional problems, developing economic and humanitarian ties and, of course, combatting common threats.

🤝 Russia is the #BRICS chair country this year. Along with our partners, we are committed to developing effective legal regulation that can strengthen food and energy security and contribute to the protection of the environment and climate, as well as to the creation of fair rules for global trade and technological cooperation. We are ready to step up cooperation in these areas with other countries, above all from the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, and Latin America.

7️⃣9️⃣ years ago, on June 26, 1945, The United Nations Charter was signed, which became the main result of the San Francisco Conference.

This fundamental document was signed by 50 participating countries, including the USSR as well as its constituent entities: the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic and the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. On behalf of the USSR, the UN Charter was signed by Andrey Gromyko.

The establishing of the UN – a universal international organization, the main goals of which are defined as the maintenance and strengthening of peace and security – was a natural consequence of the Second World War, an expression of the desire of the world community to resolve conflicts without global military action.

📃 The UN Charter is a fundamental international document mandating the main principles and norms of states’ international behaviour and regulating relations between states as well as the activities of UN agencies and organisations within its system.

🇺🇳 Today, the UN comprises 1️⃣9️⃣3️⃣ Member States, with its activities embracing every sphere of the planet’s international, political, economic, social, cultural, and humanitarian life through its specialised agencies, committees and sub-committees.

🇷🇺 Russia invariably remains committed to multilateralism and the UN’s coordinating role in world affairs, and is actively involved in the effort to reform and adapt the UN to new international realities.

🎙 From Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's remarks during the UN Security Council open debate on "Effective Multilateralism through the Protection of the Principles of the UN Charter" (New York, April 24, 2023):

💬 It is our shared responsibility to preserve the UN as the enduring model of multilateralism and coordination of world politics. The key to success is working together, refusing to claim exclusivity and - I repeat once again - respecting the sovereign equality of states. This is what we all signed up to when we ratified the UN Charter.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks at a meeting with Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova (Minsk, June 25, 2024)

💬 We are always in contact with members of parliament, especially our brothers and sisters. I would like to congratulate you in advance on the upcoming Independence Day of Belarus and the 80th anniversary of liberation from Nazi invaders. Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin will attend these celebrations on instructions from President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

One of our key tasks is to preserve our historical memory and prevent the revival of Nazism, especially in the context of a crusade against monuments to the liberators and the glorification of those who attempted to “conquer” Europe by imposing a fascist dictatorship on it. Our mission is especially important in light of attempts to glorify Nazism.

They are not only glorifying criminals and their memory and deeds but also Nazi practices. A totally racist and fascist regime of Vladimir Zelensky in Ukraine has prohibited everything Russian, including the language, media outlets, culture and education. Even the use of Russian in public space can put you in the dock.

🕯 We are grateful for the condolences we have received over the terrorist attacks in Sevastopol and Dagestan. There can be little question that they were synchronised or that the attack on Sevastopol was masterminded in the United States. President Putin said many times that from the military-technical viewpoints the Ukrainians cannot independently launch ATACMS. Launch missions are determined by American experts, and data from American satellites is used to target these missiles.

<...>

🤝 We are working on a security concept for the Union State and an agreement on security guarantees of the Union State on the principle of reciprocity.

<...>

The main point of what is happening in the “creative minds” is that the #OSCE has fully discredited itself. The Russia-NATO Council has completely collapsed. We used to have extensive ties with the European Union. They were severed overnight. As President of Russia Vladimir Putin said, we should not wait until they deign to propose meeting again. We will develop our own formats with reliable partners. When the Western countries come to reason, they should approach us and we will see what they can offer. It will be our time to set conditions. We must not rely on them in strategically important areas of the economy and other matters that are essential to the state.

The OSCE and the Russia-NATO Council are formats that cover the Euro-Atlantic region, including Europe, the US and Canada. Located overseas, these countries are not concerned about the physical threats they create for Europe and to the south of Europe, treating it as an experiment.

The Euro-Atlantic security models have discredited themselves. We will create Eurasian security, a system that is open to all countries on the continent. Our doors will not be closed to Europe unless it builds its own firmly locked doors. We will not shut them out, but we plan to begin working with Eurasian structures such as the #SCO, the #CSTO, #ASEAN, the #GCC and the #CICA. Yesterday, Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergey Aleinik and I signed letters to these organisations outlining our vision of Eurasian security and inviting them to join the dialogue.

☝️ What prompted us was the international high-level conference, Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in the Transforming World, that Belarus hosted in 2023 during its tenure as the Chair of the CSTO. The second conference will take place this autumn. Speaking at the Russian Foreign Ministry on June 14, President of Russia Vladimir Putin confirmed his support of the Belarusian initiative to adopt a Eurasian charter of diversity and multipolarity in the 21st century. When we specify our approaches, it is advisable to also include parliamentarians in the contacts schedule.

🎙 Russia's FM Sergey Lavrov’s remarks & answers to media questions at a meeting with lecturers and students of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus (Minsk, June 25, 2024)

Key talking points:

The Union State continues to develop steadily. To date, we have approved 28 Union programmes in accordance with the presidents’ instructions. This has been legally formalised through a resolution passed by parliaments of Russia and Belarus. Today, we've also approved 31 high priority guidelines, which encompass approximately 300 events and projects. These guidelines represent a specific plan for deepening our integration processes, aiming to achieve maximum economic effectiveness and improve the social sphere.

• We [with Belarus] maintain close diplomatic collaboration. We support each other at the #UN and the #OSCE, although I'd add as an aside that the latter organisation is digging its own grave as it has completely discredited its initial lofty ideals, which were the basis of its establishment during the signing the Helsinki Final Act.

• One of our essential foreign policy tasks is certainly to uphold the truth about the Great Patriotic War & to prevent any attempts to rewrite history & glorify Nazi criminals.

• No matter how the situation develops, it's of the essence to provide reliable security for all citizens of the Union State – for you and me, for all Belarusians and Russians.

• Eurasia has tremendous competitive advantages compared to other regions. Eurasia is the fastest growing region, primarily its eastern part. Western European economics have been sagging lately, largely because the US wanted it that way. Along with instigating anti-Russia bias in Ukraine, turning Ukraine against Russia, they've also eliminated competition by weakening Europe.

• The process is underway; the dollar has discredited itself, just like all the other principles underlying the Western globalisation model despite lip service to fair competition, the presumption of innocence, equal market conditions for all, and many other principles. All of them were cancelled when they decided to “punish” Russia and several other countries. They're grossly overusing this method. Therefore, the de-dollarisation trend in global economic relations is a fitting response.

• As for Western Europe, they must decide if they want to continue to pull Uncle Sam’s chestnuts out of the fire or will opt for upholding their own interests.

• The Nord Stream pipelines were sabotaged, and Germany just had to accept it. I'm confident that no one will ever show us any investigation result. Sweden and Denmark have already closed their investigations, saying they had no results to show. The Germans continue to evade our official requests. Given that the pipelines are our property, keeping us in the dark about what they are discussing among themselves, while their alleged investigation progress is both beyond the bounds of decency and beyond the legal framework.

• Russia's President Vladimir Putin has set forth our proposals (that are by no means the first ones). <...> President Putin expressed our opinion on June 14, 2024 at the Russia's MFA: under the Constitution, territories recognised as part of the Russian Federation must be liberated completely, and the threat to the security of the Russian Federation must be eliminated. Ukraine must assume a non-aligned, peaceful and demilitarised status, and the rights of the Russian and Russian-speaking population must be reinstated. So far, many of these people are still on Ukrainian territories that are not part of the Russian Federation. Their rights have been violated in the rudest possible manner.

• But #BRICS and other members of the Global Majority are aware of their responsibility as well as of the objective course of history, and will adjust their mutual communication toolkit to avoid dependence on the former hegemon’s attempts to perpetuate its hegemony whatever it takes. These attempts are doomed, however, the process will take time.

⚡️The Human Rights Situation in Ukraine (Report by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation)

❗️ This report continues the Ministry's efforts to draw the attention of the international community to the grave human rights situation in Ukraine. Right from the outset it should be noted that the human rights situation in Ukraine has been steadily deteriorating over recent years.

It is quite clear by now that Ukraine is ruled by an openly Nazi regime committing countless gross and systematic violations of human rights in all spheres of public life.

<...>

Kiev's Nazi approaches are being fully realized with regard to Ukraine's Russian-speaking population. Ukraine has banned everything Russian (language, culture, education, printed matter and media).

In the sphere of education, the process of derussification has reached its climax:

👎 Teaching in and study of Russian at schools is prohibited;
👎 All literature pieces of Russian and Soviet (except for Ukrainian) authors have been removed from the school literature programme;
👎 Books in Russian are withdrawn from libraries.;
👎 Schoolchildren and teachers are forbidden even to speak Russian not only in class, but also during personal communication at break;
👎 The government in Kiev not only supports but also authorizes attacks on churches of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

However, all these blatant human rights violations committed by Kiev are brushed under the rug or covered up by most Western NGOs and international human rights mechanisms.

<...>

☝️ As regards the situation in Ukraine, at this point we can say that by its actions Kiev only confirms a total lack of independence and shows itself to be a "puppet regime", carrying out the instructions of external handlers to create a Russophobic project entitled "Anti-Russia" out of its own country.

⚡️ Issue #3 of the Bulletin on our activities of the Russian Federation Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova to protect children during a special military operation (SMO) is available now in English on the official website of the Russian Federation Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Right.

The document contains information about activities of the Russian Federation Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the realization of the rights and interests of minors affected by the military actions.

The activities of the Commissioner are aimed at guaranteeing state protection of the rights and legitimate interests of children, the realization and observance of the rights and legitimate interests of children by state bodies, local government bodies, and officials.

The Commissioner promotes:

restoration of violated rights and legitimate interests of children;
improving legislation in the Russian Federation concerning the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of children;
international cooperation in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children;
improving the forms and methods of protecting the rights and legitimate interests of children.

Another important area we are leading on the order of Russia's President Vladimir Putin is the reunification of children with their relatives in Ukraine, Russia and other countries. In total, we have already succeeded in reuniting 70 children with 52 families in Ukraine, not counting those children whose parents from Kherson, Zaporozhye, Kharkov regions and other territories in the fall of 2022 were sent by their own decision to the health camps in the Russian south and were unable to pick them up in time. Also, nine children were reunited with five families in Russia.

***

It doesn’t matter where or in what status a child is in Russia, in an orphanage, in a foster family, whether he or she has Russian citizenship or not. If he has a parent with full parental rights, the family has every opportunity to be reunited.

The Commissioner’s Office promptly assists all legal representatives of children. Such work has been done since the beginning of the SMO and is of an individual nature.

☝️ Since the beginning of the SMO, representatives of Ukrainian authorities have not officially contacted the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights. It should be noted that Maria Lvova-Belova is open to interaction with the Ukrainian side, and if official requests were received, they would be considered.

Over time, a working channel of communication has developed between the Commissioner’s Office and Ukraine for the exchange of information, verification of data, and coordination of the reunification process. Work through this channel is regular and constructive.

📘 Read more about humanitarian projects and children's stories in the bulletin.

* The first Bulletin was presented on April 4, 2023.

🗓 International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is observed around the globe on June 26.

Uniting the efforts of the international community to counter the drug threat is extremely important. The World Drug Report 2024 was released by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime today and states that the global drug situation has sharply worsened.

☝️ The Russian Federation believes that politicised field-specific cooperation caused by the propaganda of liberal drug use ideas by the US and its allies and actual termination of contacts with law enforcement agencies from undesirable countries are what mostly caused this aggravation.

<...>

🇷🇺 Russia advocates a comprehensive and balanced approach to solving the global drug problem which combines effective law enforcement efforts with science-based prevention of drug addiction, treatment and rehabilitation of drug users.

This approach is at odds with the legislative initiatives advanced by the US, Canada and a number of EU member states to lift the ban on the use and sale of marijuana, which create an illusion that drugs are harmless and pose a threat to promoting and protecting human rights, especially the rights of the children, who must be protected from the harmful effects of drugs.

<...>

🤝 The #CSTO, which is expanding its interoperability with the countries of Asia, remains Russia’s key strategic partner in combatting the drug challenge. The anti-drug capability of the #SCO has noticeably improved, and another six-year 2024-2029 SCO Anti-Drug Strategy and an action plan to implement it will be approved soon.

The anti-drug thrust is playing an increasingly tangible role in #BRICS. The 7th meeting of the BRICS Anti-Drug Working Group was held in Moscow on May 21-22 as part of Russia’s chairmanship. The anti-drug dialogue with #ASEAN is making strides based on the Joint Statement by the Leaders of Russia and the association’s Member States of October 2021.

🎙 Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko’s remarks at the OSCE Annual Security Review Conference, June 26-27, 2024

Key points:

💬 The claims that were made here regarding the Ukraine conflict should not mislead anyone and obscure the main point that Washington had unleashed a hybrid war to preserve its global hegemony in a world that has undergone dramatic change and is increasingly vocal about the need for more change.

• The political circus in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, clearly showed those who were reluctant to see things for what they are that all the Kiev regime’s Western curators want to accomplish is squeeze Ukraine dry for its resources, rather than achieve peace. Peace was an easy goal to attain through the Minsk agreements, which provided for the Lugansk and Donetsk regions reunification with Ukraine and respecting fundamental human rights in the process.

• There is no such thing as security or cooperation in Europe. The United States has annihilated the political and military centrality of the OSCE. Arms control agreements that were of key importance to European and Euro-Atlantic security have been broken. The NATO members are having businesslike discussions about supplying the Kiev regime with ever more high-precision and long-range weapons and lifting restrictions on using them.

• The economic dimension of the OSCE is collapsing under the weight of innumerable illegal sanctions imposed not only on Russia, but also on other countries which prefer to choose their partners on their own and to build mutually beneficial relations without anyone telling them what to do.

• The humanitarian basket and the activities of the OSCE institutions have been eviscerated by Western double standards. Make your European choice publicly known, and you’ll get a free pass to all sorts of human rights violations all the way to unleashing war against your own people, which is what the Kiev regime did after the Maidan coup.

👉 All that remains of the OSCE is a shell, a framework for a political dialogue, but there is no dialogue in sight.

Is there an alternative to sliding toward a point of no return?

❗️ Yes, there is.
It is contained in President Putin’s proposals on ending the Ukraine conflict, which he articulated at a meeting with the Foreign Ministry senior officials on June 14.

🎙 Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov's interview with 'Izvestia' Multimedia Information Centre (Moscow, June 27, 2024)

#StrategicStability

• So far, I do not see any pre-requisites that would allow Russia and the United States to resume discussions of strategic nuclear arms control future.

• The Americans repeatedly suggested that we [resume the strategic arms talks], but they invariably received the only answer that was possible in the current situation. As long as their behaviour is steeped in nothing but rabid Russophobia, we are not ready for this dialogue.

#BRICS

• Within BRICS <...> there is a consistent increase in the use of national currencies for settlements and in implementing schemes that are protected from Western regulatory pressure. In certain areas, this share already exceeds 80-90 percent.
