❓ Question: Japanese drone manufacturer Terra Drone Corporation has released a statement on its website confirming a strategic partnership with the Ukrainian developer Amazing Drones, which specialises in combat unmanned aerial systems. The Japanese company also openly stated that the deal forms part of a broader long-term strategy to enter the military products market, including attack systems. What can you say about this?
💬Maria Zakharova: Indeed, such information has been reported. Considering Ukraine’s relentless criminal provocations involving the use of UAVs against civilian assets in Russia, we view this step – clearly taken with the support of official authorities – as openly hostile and harmful to our country’s security interests, including the protection of civilians.
By assisting the neo-Nazi regime led by Zelensky, Japan is becoming increasingly embroiled into the conflict around Ukraine, thereby inflicting further damage to its relations with Russia, which have already significantly worsened due to Tokyo’s actions.
Clearly, such decisions do nothing to facilitate a swift resolution of the situation around Ukraine and only serve to prolong the hostilities.
☝️ A reminder: weapons posing a threat to our country and our citizens, as well as the production facilities that manufacture them on Ukrainian territory, are considered legitimate military targets for the Russian Armed Forces.

🗓 On December 29, President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing April 19 as the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People, perpetrated by the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The draft law to introduce this Day of Remembrance was developed by Russia's State Duma Committee on Defence in November 2025. The authors of the initiative proposed commemorating the victims on April 19, as on this date in 1943 the first legal act was issued that officially documented the Nazis’ policy of exterminating civilians in the occupied territories – Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR No. 39 “On punishment measures for Nazi villains guilty of killing and torturing the Soviet civilian population and captured Red Army soldiers, for spies, traitors to the motherland from among Soviet citizens and for their accomplices”.
Decree No. 39 laid the legal foundations for bringing to justice Nazi criminals and their accomplices, including Italian, Romanian, Hungarian and Finnish military personnel. Materials collected during investigations conducted on the basis of Decree No. 39 formed a key part of the evidentiary base at the Nuremberg Tribunal, the Khabarovsk Trial, and other judicial proceedings against war criminals from the Axis powers.
💬 Speaking at a meeting of Pobeda (Victory) Organizing Committee on July 2, 2020, Vladimir Putin noted:
🕯 Losses caused by the actions of the Nazis and their accomplices during the Great Patriotic War amounted to no fewer than 27 million Soviet citizens, while the total estimated demographic losses of the USSR approached 50 million people.

Ahead of the International Day of Liberation of Prisoners of Nazi Concentration Camps (April 11), established by UNESCO in 1952, and the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People (April 19), declared by the President of Russia in December 2025, we once again turn to archival documents that contain evidence of the crimes committed by the Nazis and their collaborators.
The Russian Military Historical Society has published on its website a selection of documents from the Central Archives of the Russian Defence Ministry. These materials include records related to the Red Army’s liberation of European countries from Nazi occupation and the freeing of concentration camp prisoners, as well as a series of reports describing atrocities of the Banderites.

This selection of archival documents includes declassified materials that contain evidence related to the Nazi extermination camps Sobibor, Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Majdanek, as well as prisoner-of-war camps. Reports submitted by members of the Military Councils of these fronts to the Supreme High Command shed light on the scale and brutality of Nazi crimes.
Not only German forces, but also their collaborators, participated in acts of genocide against concentration camp prisoners. The materials include testimonies from liberated prisoners of war, reports by Soviet command on the extermination of prisoners immediately prior to the liberation of the camps, personal accounts of participants, and records of interrogations of Nazis and their collaborators.

All the corpses were piled up, doused with fuel, and burned. A huge bonfire began to blaze an hour after the train carrying the unfortunate victims arrived. It burned for days, with the stench of burning human bodies carried by the wind for many kilometres to neighbouring villages.
The Germans later burned the Jewish prisoners who had been forced to work in this death factory, and destroyed the camp in mid-1943. In the fall of 1943, they plowed over the site and sowed it with rye in an attempt to conceal their terrible crimes.

The activities of Ukrainian-German nationalist groups were aimed at disrupting state events, including the procurement of agricultural products. <...> In areas without military garrisons, these groups intensified their hostilities, and terrorist acts, including the killings of local party officials and rural activists, became more frequent. In addition to acts of intimidation and the search for winter clothing, <...> these groups carried out robberies of cooperative stores and private households.
...
In the village of Grigorovo, Monastyrsky District, bandits killed the secretary of the village council for being the first to fulfill the grain supply quota.
...
In the Vishnevsky District, on October 19, bandits executed three young women: one a milk collector, one a postwoman, and one a cafeteria cleaner. The victims were subjected to severe abuse: the bandits cut their hair, slashed their faces with needles, and committed other acts of cruelty.

⚡️ Statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry on the situation in the Middle East (April 6, 2026)
The large-scale international crisis triggered by the unlawful and unprovoked aggression of the US and Israel against Iran continues to widen and intensify with each passing day.
The strikes are becoming ever more fierce and destructive. Their targets now include not only military objectives, but also civilian infrastructure, including, with increasing frequency, nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards.
Particular concern is caused by the growing number of reckless attacks on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, which have already resulted in loss of life. The shadow of a radiological catastrophe – one potentially more devastating than Chernobyl – now looms over the Persian Gulf region and the adjacent part of Eurasia.
The armed confrontation has already claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people, including women and children, and has inflicted suffering on civilians. Schools, hospitals and World Heritage sites are being destroyed. Diplomatic and consular missions are also coming under fire, in blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international relations and the relevant Vienna Conventions.
Enormous damage has been inflicted on global energy and food security. Critical logistics routes that had functioned without disruption before this criminal US-Israeli gamble have been blocked. Markets have been thrown into disarray, many countries are being forced to introduce fuel rationing, and experts are issuing grim forecasts of economic decline and surging inflation in vulnerable economies.
The situation caused by the unlawful and irresponsible actions of Washington and Tel Aviv is deteriorating rapidly and risks spiralling fully out of control.
We once again strongly call for an immediate cessation of hostilities. We welcome the efforts of a number of states, including Pakistan, Türkiye and China, to de-escalate tensions around Iran and pave the way for dialogue on a long-term and sustainable normalization of the situation in the Middle East.
We also draw attention to the April 2 statement by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in which he called on the US and Israel to stop the war that is causing immense human suffering and dire economic consequences, and on Iran to halt the attacks on its neighbours launched in the wake of the aggression.
We believe that there is still a chance for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict. The parties to the conflict must abandon the language of threats, unacceptable insults and ultimatums, and avoid actions that could plunge the entire region into irreparable chaos.
It is critically important not to undermine the remaining prospects for negotiations aimed at achieving a political and diplomatic solution. We call for this factor to be fully taken into account in the work of the UN Security Council.
Responsible members of the international community must prevent the Middle East from sliding into the abyss of an all-consuming war with long-term tragic consequences for the entire world.
☝️ Russia, together with its international partners, stands ready to do everything possible to that end.

🗓 On April 7, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov received in Moscow Rebeca Grynspan of Costa Rica, a candidate for the post of UN Secretary-General.
Sergey Lavrov conveyed Russia’s position that candidates for the top UN post must strictly adhere to the principles of the UN Charter, pursue an impartial line in the interests of all member states, and work to adapt the Organisation to multipolar realities.
Rebeca Grynspan presented her campaign platform, focusing on approaches to addressing current challenges, organising the UN’s day-to-day work, and carrying out reforms aimed at fully restoring its effectiveness and operational capacity.
#UNCharterIsOurRules: Both Sides reaffirmed their commitment to the UN’s central coordinating role in world affairs.

During the discussion of the current state of bilateral relations, the Russian side stressed that, as a result of the unfriendly policy pursued by official Tokyo – a course unfortunately continued by the new cabinet of Sanae Takaichi – relations between the two countries have deteriorated to an unprecedented low.

Для отвлечения внимания международной и европейской общественности Брюссель демонстрирует приверженность традиционному курсу, который предусматривает опору на «ядерный зонтик» США. В руководстве Евросоюза рассчитывают, что подобным образом ему удастся выиграть время для скрытого формирования собственной ядерно-оружейной промышленной базы, а также для подготовки общественности к принятию политического решения об обретении ядерного оружия.
В этот период Британия и Франция продолжат налаживать более тесную координацию национальных ядерных доктрин. В дальнейшем предполагается официально оформить общеевропейскую доктрину ядерного сдерживания, опирающуюся на французский и британский военно-технические потенциалы, а также на финансовые и инфраструктурные вклады стран ЕС, не обладающих ядерным оружием. Одновременно Евросоюз зарезервирует себе возможность создания полностью автономного командования ядерными силами.
Такие замыслы ЕС опираются на серьёзную промышленно-техническую основу. Обращает на себя внимание тот факт, что Германия, Италия, Чехия, Бельгия, Нидерланды, Швеция и Испания уже обладают значимыми компетенциями в области создания отдельных составляющих ядерного оружия. Эти страны располагают гражданским и военным промышленным потенциалом для производства его компонентов. На их территориях хранится большое количество облучённого ядерного топлива с выводимых из эксплуатации энергоблоков АЭС. Имеется возможность его несанкционированного извлечения из хранилищ для дальнейшего выделения плутония, пригодного для изготовления атомной бомбы.
Немецкие специалисты способны в течение примерно месяца скрыто получить достаточное для одного ядерного взрывного устройства количество оружейного плутония в горячих камерах исследовательских лабораторий в Карлсруэ, Дрездене, Эрлангене и Юлихе, а в течение недели — оружейного урана на обогатительном предприятии в Гронау.
☝️ Обращаем внимание администрации США и руководства всех остальных стран мира на необходимость сделать всё возможное, чтобы не допустить создания Евросоюзом собственного ядерного оружия и неизбежного в таком случае нового витка глобальной гонки ядерных вооружений.

В Русском доме в Коломбо вовсю готовятся к одному из самых любимых праздников — Дню космонавтики.
На Шри-Ланке этот праздник любят особенно. Интерес к теме космоса здесь живет уже много десятилетий. Во многом потому, что остров в разные годы посещали легендарные советские космонавты из первого отряда: Юрий Гагарин, Валентина Терешкова, Андриян Николаев.
Самым первым, конечно, был Юрий Гагарин. Он посетил Цейлон в декабре 1961 года — всего через несколько месяцев после своего полета в космос. Его визит стал настоящим событием, и память о нем здесь хранят до сих пор — очень тепло и трепетно. Поэтому тема освоения космоса и сегодня остается на острове удивительно живой, близкой и по-настоящему любимой.
В ходе Гагаринской недели мы встретились с активом Русского клуба — ланкийцами, которые интересуются Россией. Среди них блогеры, программисты, историки, врачи, юристы. Ребята всегда с большим энтузиазмом участвуют в наших мероприятиях, поэтому на этот раз мы вновь собрались вместе, чтобы поговорить о космосе, вспомнить интересные факты о первых полетах и, конечно, о Юрии Гагарине.
Вечер получился очень теплым и живым: мы делились историями, спорили о том, каким будет будущее человечества за пределами Земли.
Встреча завершилась кинопоказом документального фильма «Гагарин. Обнимая мир», который участники Русского клуба, конечно же, посмотрели с большим интересом и удовольствием.
