⚡️Ten years ago, the streets of Kiev witnessed a real massacre with the use of firearms which led to further escalation of "#Euromaidan" riots and the bloody anti-constitutional coup.

📚Read the following excerpts from the monography "History of Ukraine" describing how the coup happened.

✍️"On 21 February the Presidential Administration signed the Agreement on Resolving the Crisis in #Ukraine. <...>

After signing of the agreement, the security forces left the Kiev downtown. However, on the evening of February 22, in violation of its clauses, the Euromaidan militants — the Right Sector and the Maidan self-defense occupied government buildings. <...>

The next day, the Verkhovna Rada adopted an illegal decision to remove the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. On 22 February 2014 there was no impeachment procedure at all, and the number of deputies who voted for it — 328, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, was not enough to make a decision, which requires 338 people.

On 23 February Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Alexander Turchinov signed a resolution on assuming the duties of the President.

An anti-constitutional coup in Ukraine was carried out."

🎦The RT documentary "Operation Ukraine: Crime without Punishment" contains the facts of mass crimes committed by the Kiev regime after the bloody coup of 2014.

Western organisations and media keep ignoring violent acts of Ukrainian Neo-Nazis who have never considered the people of Donbass as human beings.

💬‘I say from the military point of view: there was no point in torturing. It was just a pleasure, an amusement. A sadistic pleasure in the torture of a man.’ says Vladimir Novikov, commander of the ‘Troy’ special forces unit, who saw the most horrific torture in the videos from the phones of the captured Ukrainian nationalists in 2014-2015.

🎙Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov’s remarks and answers to questions at a conference on the 10th anniversary of the coup in Ukraine "Euromaidan: #Ukraine's Lost Decade" (Moscow, 16 February 2024)

💬Speaking about geopolitical aspects and consequences of the coup in Kiev, I would like first to say that these events were yet another result of the divide-and-rule policy that is aimed at setting countries at loggerheads and provoking interstate conflicts.

The collective West led by the US, or to be more precise the Anglo-Saxons, has long pursued this policy. Britain is playing a more aggressive and devious role in the current events with its provocative assertiveness than that of any other participant, including the US.

#G20

It became clear that relying on just one centre of economic power is not a viable approach and most recently the G20 has engaged in a dialogue to reform and to restore the functionality of global economic institutions.

The positive dynamics of this forum are largely attributable to the fact that emerging markets are acting independently and insisting on fair consideration of their interests.

☝️ It is important for the G20 countries to commit to not weaponise the economy and to not engage in unfair competition.

#BRICS

🌐 Strengthening the potential and role of BRICS in international affairs is our priority.

BRICS members represent different economic and political systems, religions, and macro-regions and are able to work together as equal partners. Its international standing is steadily growing.

#Ukraine

❗️The root causes of the Ukraine crisis need to be eliminated if we want to achieve a sustainable and fair settlement. The West must stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, and Kiev must stop hostilities.

Ukraine should reinstate its neutral, non-aligned, and non-nuclear status and ensure the rights and freedoms of its citizens. It is critical that the basis be the new territorial realities and the situation on the ground.

#RussiaUS

👉 The ruling elite of the US views Russia as an adversary and a threat regardless of its party affiliation. The former president did nothing to improve Russia-US relations during his four-year stint in the White House.

We have no illusions and do not expect the anti-Russian course of the US to change in the foreseeable future. We are prepared to work with any leader who wins the American people’s trust. What matters to us is not specific political figures, but their policies towards Russia. President Putin made that clear recently in his televised interview.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks during talks with Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Yvan Gil (Caracas, February 20, 2024)

💬 Three days ago, we celebrated the 167th Anniversary of our bilateral relations. This is an impressive milestone. I congratulate all of us on this significant occasion.

Throughout this time, our relations have evolved into a stable strategic partnership and a true friendship. We support each other on the international stage in our efforts to promote justice and democracy in global affairs.

We cooperate within the Group of Friends in Defence of the UN Charter, established at the initiative of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Our work has had a galvanising effect on all the countries seeking to assert their identity and avoid being adversely affected by Western policies that still rely on neo-colonial practices.

10 years ago legally elected president of Ukraine V.Yanukovych was removed from the office in violation of the Constitution by Nazi groups of the so-called "Maidan" with the silent approval from the EU and the US. That paved the way for Ukraine to slide down under the leadership of V.Zelensky. The outcomes are disastrous.
🎙Excerpts from Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov's remarks at the “For the Freedom of Nations” Forum of Supporters of the Struggle Against Modern Practices of #Neocolonialism (Moscow, 16 February 2024)

Examples of the #West’s attitude towards the #GlobalMajority:

🔹In 2010, developing countries were promised $100 billion annually for 10 years as climate finance. However, the West was in no hurry to fulfil its obligations, allocating just crumbs from the promised funds. In 2015, the pledge of “$100 billion per year for 10 years” was reiterated in Paris. But nothing changed.

🔹By outsourcing “dirty” production facilities to other countries, Western supporters of climate justice are imposing additional costs on Southern nations and pressuring them buy costly green technologies from the West. You can clearly see how the money that was pledged for development is being spent on supplying weapons to the Kiev regime and other military ventures.

🔹The distribution of vaccines during the COVID-19 pandemic also sheds light on this issue. From the outset, the West secured the majority of scarce vaccines, leaving the impoverished & vulnerable to fend for themselves. At the same time, international bodies controlled by the West deliberately delayed the certification of the Russian Sputnik vaccine, which could have saved millions of lives in developing countries.

🔹Another aspect of neocolonialism involves imposing neoliberal ideologies at the expense of traditional spiritual and moral values. Concepts like gender diversity, drug legalisation and transhumanism are part of this harmful policy.

🔹Impunity with which the West conducts biological experiments on humans provokes outrage. According to recent information from the Russian Ministry of Defence, corroborated by journalists’ investigations, major European and US corporations conducted experiments on children and adults for minimal compensation in Mariupol, a city formerly controlled by the Kiev regime. These experiments involved drugs that severely suppressed the immune system and encouraged cancer cell growth, with the aim of spreading diseases and epidemics among Slavic populations. The research materials they collected were sent to European laboratories, and their subsequent fate remains unknown. The West will never reveal the evidence exposing its illicit biological experiments to the global community.

✍️Eduard #Popov's article "Ukrainian #Nazism today: origin and ideological and political typology" is an academic view on the historical background and types of Ukrainian Nazism as well as the reasons of its rise in modern #Ukraine.

"At the end of the war [WWII] and immediately after its conclusion, many fighters & activists of the OUN-B & OUN-M shielded themselves from retribution in the United States and Canada. This would have been impossible without the support & direct sanction of the state authorities in the USA and Great Britain. After the collapse of the USSR, the US ruling circles "exported" Nazi proponents & social engineering technologies back to Ukraine and ensured that they entered the scientific and educational area. At the same time, the party structures of Bandera's & Melnikov's proponents were reestablished.

Thus, modern Ukrainian Nazism has ideological & organizational continuity from Hitler's collaborators of World War II, the executioners of #Volyn & #Khatyn".

🗓On this day, ten years ago, the European Union acted as a guarantor in the agreement signed by the Ukrainian authorities and the opposition. The document was supposed to stop the political crisis in the country and what was happening in the streets of Kiev: mass riots, shootings, and deaths.

But the very next day, despite guarantees from the West, there was a coup d'état in the country. European politicians saw the conflict between Kiev and Donbass escalating. They assured them they were against war and offered their help in the Minsk agreements.

The West no longer hides the fact that it was only a plan to buy time to pump Ukraine with weapons. Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel speaks openly about this in an interview with a German newspaper: ‘The Minsk Agreement in 2014 was an attempt to give Ukraine time. It also used this time to become stronger, as you can see today.’

✍️Excerpts from Kirill Shevchenko's article "From Galician Rus' to Western Ukraine":

"As noted by American researcher John Armstrong, the Ukrainian nationalism is distinguished from other varieties of "integral nationalisms" by a greater degree of totalitarianism, irrational mysticism, a hypertrophic cult of violence, war and terror, as well as a tendency to the imaginary and the far-fetched.

In 1904, prominent representative of the Galician-Russian movement Osip Monchalovsky fiercely described the Ukrainian nationalism as "a betrayal of the Russian language and culture that have been developed over centuries, a self-transformation into intertribal misfits, in the rag for Polish and German boots...; a denial of the indigenous origins of their nation." Notably, a prominent Czech politician and public figure, Karl Kramarz, similarly characterized the Ukrainian movement, emphasizing that in Austria-Hungary Ukrainian politicians from Galicia acted as a willing tool of Vienna and Berlin. <...>

Whereas the activists of the Ukrainian movement sought to prove the separate existence of the Great Russians and Ukrainians as early as the Kievan Rus' era, trying to separate them in Old Russian history and literature, the Galician-Russian thinkers proceeded from the idea of the original unity of all Russian lands."

🗓 February 22 marks the 10th anniversary of the unconstitutional coup d'etat in Ukraine — an event, which led to an armed civil conflict, essentially a war waged by the Kiev regime against its own people, and a deepest crisis of international and European security since World War II.

10 years have passed since the tragic and horrible events of February 2014. The residing "authorities" in Kiev, aka the Kiev regime, and their Western sponsors are, as per their usual m.o., are attempting to distort the truth, conceal true facts, and turn the timeline of those events, their substance upside down.

❗️ But the truth is stubborn; it tends to get revealed sooner or later.

***

On the origins of Ukrainian nationalism, the crimes of the OUN-UPA, and the support of the West

***

The most horrific events unfolded on 20 February: the still unidentified snipers began shooting on the Institutskaya Street in the centre of Kiev at both law enforcement and protesters. Euromaidan supporters and Western politicians, seized "the opportunity", blamed the legitimate authorities of Ukraine. No evidence of Yanukovich's involvement was provided, and there is none to this day. Unlike, the Maidan activists & the opposition who benefited the most and was seen smuggling weapons into the area <...>

On 21 February, in an attempt to avoid further bloodshed, Yanukovych signed an Agreement on the Settlement of the Political Crisis in Ukraine with the opposition (from the opposition's side — Vitali Klitschko (UDAR party), Arseniy Yatsenyuk ("Fatherland"), and Oleg Tyagnybok ("Freedom")), which was supported and guaranteed by the foreign ministers of Germany, France, and Poland. This document envisaged the creation of a government of national trust, constitutional reform, and the organization of early presidential elections. None of the Agreement's provisions were implemented.

The next day, on February 22, the Supreme Council passed a resolution on Viktor Yanukovych's "self-removal" from performing the duties of the President of Ukraine, thereby usurping power (although he remained a legitimate president, remained in Ukraine and had made no statements regarding resignation). It was then announced that the "government of the victors (winner)" would be formed. The West turned a blind eye to all violations and hurried to declare a "change of power" in Ukraine, openly encouraging the putschists to pursue their anti-Russian policy. What ensued was basically a hunt for the remaining law enforcement officers and officials loyal to their oath and the country. <...> The very next day, the very first decision of the new "government" through the Verkhovnaya Rada was to revoke the law on the status of the Russian language, which according to data was back then the mother tongue of the majority (!) of the Ukrainian citizens.

<...>

The "mediation" meddling of the West led to a sharp polarisation of Ukrainian society, which created the preconditions for an armed civil conflict. The first legislative steps of the "Maidan victors" — the abovementioned cancellation of the language law — were received with alarm in South-Eastern Ukraine, where spontaneous formation of popular militia forces began. Kiev immediately accused all the inhabitants of the region of "state treason" and "terrorism", threw the army and neo-Nazi punitive battalions to violently suppress the protests.

<...>

‼️ "Euromaidan" created a deep rift in Ukrainian society, lead to persecution, fight against dissent, spread of nationalism and neo-Nazism, legal lawlessness and nihilism, fighting the Russian language and own history, complete degradation of the socio-economic situation in the country.

The terror and horror brought by the Ukrainian neo-Nazis and nationalists in 2014 must be brought to an end. Denazification and demilitarisation will be achieved.

📄 Foreign Ministry Spox Maria Zakharova's comment on the crisis in Ukraine
Forwarded from Russian MFA 🇷🇺
▪️ On this very day, 10 years ago, Kiev became ground zero for an unconstitutional coup, that triggered all the events around Ukraine and its now former regions ever since. It marked the culmination of the Euromaidan demonstrations, a series of public protests held between November 2013 and February 2014, organised with the involvement and support of Western countries.

Here are facts that the Western mainstream media does not want to you to remember or know at all 👇

🔻 On February 21, 2014, a day before the coup, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and the opposition, mediated by Germany, Poland, and France, reached an agreement intended to stop the bloodshed and pave the way for a political resolution to the crisis. However, as soon as Yanukovych ordered the withdrawal of law enforcement troops from the centre of Kiev, militants began storming government buildings.

🔻 The Euromaidan protesters openly expressed neo-Nazi views. Images of Third Reich intelligence agent Stepan Bandera adorned captured buildings and were raised at rallies.

🔻 The Maidan Square protests received overt support and funding from Western countries. The US Embassy alone reportedly provided material support to protester groups amounting to $1 million per day.

🔻 Euromaidan activists resorted to the use of force and terrorist tactics, as evidenced by numerous cases of beatings and torture inflicted upon politicians and public figures who spoke out against the coup.

🔻Following the Euromaidan victory, the Kiev regime’s campaign of terror against dissidents became a hallmark. For over a decade, the people of Donbass endured terrorist attacks and indiscriminate strikes from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and neo-Nazi groups.

❗️Following the coup in Ukraine, its participants chose confrontation and civil war instead of pursuing peaceful development for the country.
