📅 #OTD, 80 years ago, on February 4, 1945, the Yalta (Crimean) Conference commenced. It was the second meeting of all anti-Hitler coalition countries leaders: Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill & Franklin Roosevelt.

Yalta hosted the conference when successful strategic offensives by the Red Army had liberated the Soviet territories as well as several European nations from fascist occupation. Just on February 3, the Vistula-Oder Operation had concluded, while the Western Carpathian & East Prussian operations were in full swing, marking the final stages of the war against Nazi Germany.

📜 The leaders approved key international documents, including the Declaration of Liberated Europe & documents outlining the fundamental principles for the creation of the UN, which laid the foundation for post-war international relations & defined the contours of the post-war world order.

Certain issues regarding post-war Germany were also resolved. Conference participants expressed their unwavering determination to eliminate German militarism & Nazism. They agreed on France's participation in addressing the German issue, defining the borders of Poland, outlines of the future Polish government & the conditions for the USSR's entry into the war against Japan.

The tremendous growth in the international authority of the Soviet Union, bolstered by the outstanding achievements of the Red Army, had a significant influence on the course & outcomes of the negotiations.

🤝 The Yalta Conference of the leaders of the USSR, the USA, and the UK held immense historical significance, being one of the key summits of the Second World War. It demonstrated the readiness for cooperation & compromise among the three allied powers in their fight against the common enemy.

❗️ The decisions of the Yalta Conference strengthened the anti-fascist coalition in the final stages of the war & contributed to the victory over Germany. In the post-war years Soviet diplomacy largely focused on Implementing the conference's decisions.

In the evening of January 29, a passenger plane and a military helicopter collided in mid-air over Washington, killing 67 people. We express our deep condolences to the victims’ families and the American people.

#FalsificationOfHistory

The collective West is bent on erasing all positive developments from historical memory and smearing the Red Army rather than preserving memory and thanking their liberators [of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp], our soldiers, who defeated the Third Reich.

Zelensky’s appearance in Oswiecim sparked an outrage among Poland’s religious Jewish community. Poland’s Chief Rabbi Michael Schudrich said its representatives refused to go to an event attended by a dictator who has domesticated Nazis.

#KievRegimeCrimes #NeoNazism

The modern-day Bandera followers are trying to keep up with their ideological cult figures and continue to terrorise civilians and to attack civilian infrastructure in the Russian regions.

The representatives of the Kiev regime are neo-Nazis, not only in relation to the Russian-speaking population, but also to all citizens of Ukraine. Genocide of its own population is underway in Ukraine, and it is committed by those whom the people of Ukraine voted for as their leaders.

The Kiev regime is doing its utmost to erase the memory of the liberator soldiers, who were Russians and people of other Soviet nationalities, including many Ukrainians. Nationalists are maniacally demolishing the monuments and graves of Red Army soldiers throughout Ukraine, or rather in what’s left of Ukraine due to actions of the Kiev regime and its Western sponsors.

The Kiev regime continues to deride the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The Westerners have always been behind the lawlessness and legal chaos in Ukraine. They use the dirtiest methods to destroy Orthodoxy in Ukraine, distort it beyond recognition, and replace concepts.

#Sanctions #USA

Western sanctions and weaponising reserve currencies by Washington and its satellites have undermined the international players’ confidence in the global financial architecture based on the dominance of the US dollar and the euro, which has led to an increase in the share of alternative monetary units in international payments and savings.

Acting as part of associations such as #BRICS, the #SCO, #ASEAN, and on a bilateral footing, member countries are stepping up the dialogue on using national currencies in mutual trade and taking steps to build the necessary payment and settlement infrastructure that would be independent of Western countries.

#GreatPatrioticWar #YaltaConference

On February 4, 1945, a conference with the participation of the three Allied leaders opened in Livadia Palace outside Yalta.

Thanks largely to the efforts of Soviet diplomacy, the decisions adopted at the Yalta Conference had a great influence on bringing an early end to the Second World War and the post-war organisation of the world, and became an integral part of the Yalta-Potsdam system of international relations.

#DRC

The security situation in [in the Democratic Republic of the Congo] once again deteriorated this January as the March 23 Movement (M23) intensified its offensive. On January 27, M23 captured Goma, the administrative centre of the North Kivu Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which is home to more than one million civilians.

🇷🇺🇮🇳 During his official visit to India, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin had a meeting with Governor of Maharashtra Chandrapuram Radhakrishnan in Mumbai.

They discussed issues of expanding interregional trade, economic, social and cultural ties.

👥 The meeting was also attended by Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar.

The Chairman of the State Duma noted that one of the objectives of the visit of the State Duma delegation to India is to get acquainted with the development of one of the leading states of the country. "It is important for us to study issues of humanitarian cooperation at the interregional level, because strong regions mean a strong country," he underscored.

"We have a lot in common: as states with a federal structure, we can exchange practices, approaches, solutions in terms of regional development," added Vyacheslav Volodin.

"We are glad to see such a high-level delegation in Mumbai. Maharashtra is one of the key regions of India, it is a leading state in many sectors of the economy, and you are right when you say that strong regions mean a strong country," Chandrapuram Radhakrishnan said.

☝🏻 He emphasized that Russia and India have long-standing friendly ties that are actively developing, including within BRICS.

The Chairman of the State Duma drew attention to the need to exchange experience not only in the field of industry and economics, but also in science and education.

The Governor of Maharashtra noted the interest of Indian students in studying the Russian language: one of the leading departments for it operates at the University of Mumbai, but, in his opinion, the number of universities where Russian is taught should be increased.

Earlier, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin had a meeting with Speaker of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Rahul Narwekar.

🤝 They discussed issues of legislative support for trade and economic cooperation at the interregional level, as well as the development of humanitarian ties, including in scientific and educational spheres.
