🔹 The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa met on 19 May 2022 in virtual format under China’s Chairship. FMs agreed that facing the newly emerging features and challenges, the BRICS countries should enhance their solidarity and cooperation and work together to address them.

🔹 The Ministers reiterated their commitment to multilateralism through upholding international law, including the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations as its indispensable cornerstone.

🔹 The Ministers recalled their national positions concerning the situation in Ukraine as expressed at the appropriate fora, namely the UNSC and UNGA. They supported talks between Russia and Ukraine.

⚡️ The territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, where a group of Ukrainian militants of the Azov Nazi group has been blocked since April 21, has been completely liberated. A total of 2,439 Azov Nazis and AFU servicemen blocked inside the plant have laid down their arms and surrendered during the operation. Russian Defence Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the completion of the operation and the complete liberation of the plant and Mariupol city from the Ukrainian militants.


🇷🇺 Moscow hosted Russian Defence Ministry Board Session chaired by General of the Army Sergei Shoigu at the National Centre for State Defence Control. The head of the military department said that groups of the Russian Armed Forces together with units of the Lugansk and the Donetsk people's republics continue to expand their control over Donbass territories. The liberation of the Lugansk People's Republic is nearing completion.
The Russian Defence Minister also noted that in connection with Finland's and Sweden's bid to join NATO, tensions in the Western Military District's area of responsibility continue to rise, and adequate countermeasures are being taken. Sergei Shoigu spoke about equipping the Aerospace Forces and the Navy with medium- and long-range unmanned aerial vehicle systems.

💥 High-precision air-based missiles of the Russian Aerospace Forces have hit 4 command posts, 45 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration, as well as 7 ammunition and fuel depots near Bakhmut, Berestovoe, Soledar, Pokrovskoe, Konstantinovka and Maslyakovka of the Donetsk People's Republic. In addition, 1 Osa-AKM anti-aircraft missile system launcher near Seversk and 1 radar of the Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system near Barvenkovo, Kharkov Region, have been also destroyed.

💥 Missile troops and artillery have hit 12 command posts, 213 areas of manpower and military equipment concentration, 24 artillery and mortar units at firing positions, and 3 ammunition depots near Chuguev, Kharkov Region.

⚠️ Ukrainian armed formations continue to use of social infrastructure for military purposes.

⚠️ Militants of Ukrainian nationalist formations and units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been carrying out looting raids in residential areas in Gulyaipole, Zaporozhye Region.
