๐ On February 27, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov took part in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Congress of the International Russophile Movement in Moscow.
The event at the Lomonosov Innovation Centre of Moscow State University brought together foreign delegates from more than 130 countries, united by a friendly disposition towards Russia, interest in its cultural and historical heritage, as well as a commitment to traditional values and confidence in the right of peoples to preserve their national identity. The event was attended by Russian government officials, political and public figures, and representatives of science and culture.
Sergey Lavrov delivered a welcoming speech and read out a message from Russia's President Vladimir Putin to the participants of the congress.
โน๏ธ The Congress brings together representatives of public organisations, politics, culture, and business who advocate for closer relations with Russia and against Russophobia. The movement organises thematic conferences, seminars, art and literary competitions in Russian, maintains monuments associated with Russia in proper condition, publishes books by Russian authors abroad, promotes the study of the Russian language, and promotes horizontal ties and contacts through public diplomacy.

Students took part in contests to test their strength, agility, speed and accuracy.
Demonstrations of combat tactics โ flanking with shashkas โ were organized.

Over the course of three days, supported by the Russian House in Mumbai, expedition leader Yevgeny Kovalevsky and Chief of Staff Yulia Kalyuzhnaya met with more than 200 students and faculty from the Mumbai University, Vivek College and Shailendra College.
The expedition has not only historical, but also scientific and educational significance. During the journey, data on the state of water and air are collected, measurements of various environmental parameters are taken.
Based on the results of meetings with Indian educational institutions, it was decided to involve Indian schoolchildren and students in this project. The next lesson will take place on April 3 and will focus on Antarctica. The Institute of the Arctic and Antarctic (AANII) and the Indian Center for Polar and Oceanic Research are participating in its preparation.

During the event, representatives of the State Lermontov Museum-Reserve โTarkhanyโ Maria Fedorova and Yulia Zheleznikova introduced the audience to the poetโs life path.
The opening ceremony was attended by Oleg Osipov, Director of the Russian House in New Delhi, and Dr Girish Munjal, Head of the Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugric Studies, University of Delhi.
Visitors to the exhibition also took part in a master class on creating a folk patchwork doll โKuvatkaโ.
