๐ŸŽ™Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrovโ€™s remarks at the presentation of the collection of documents titled Crimea in Russiaโ€™s Development: History, Politics, Diplomacy. Documents from the Foreign Ministry Archives, Moscow (February 15, 2024)

๐Ÿ’ฌ This publication has been released for the tenth Anniversary of Crimeaโ€™s reunification with Russia, which we will celebrate next month.

<...>

In his famous Crimean Speech of March 18, 2014, President Vladimir Putin said: โ€œWe could not leave this plea unheeded; we could not abandon Crimea and its residents in distress. This would have been betrayal on our part.โ€

The way the dramatic events have been unfolding in Ukraine demonstrates that reunification with Russia was the only right and possible option for the people of Crimea. Taking this step was consistent with the historical logic of events and the fundamental interests of the people living on this Russian peninsula.

This is the message conveyed by the collection we are presenting today. In particular, it offers unique and convincing documentary evidence demonstrating the unbreakable bond linking Crimeaโ€™s destiny to Russia.

๐Ÿ“œ The documents in this book include treaties, declarations, diplomatic messages, letters and telegrams. <...> This covers a historical era of over 200 years, marked by momentous accomplishments, including:

โ€ข the steady expansion of Russian influence over the peninsula,
โ€ข Crimeaโ€™s accession to the Russian Empire,
โ€ข the construction of new cities there,
โ€ข the emergence of the Black Sea fleet,
โ€ข the heroic defence of Sevastopol,
โ€ข the establishment of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic as part of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ Today, Russia is making great efforts to revive the love for Russian history and preserve the truth about its great past. This collection contains original documents from the Foreign Ministry Archives and seeks to make a constructive and useful contribution to these important efforts.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova:

The instant reaction of the NATO leaders to the news of Alexey Navalny's demise in the form of direct accusations against Russia is self-exposing.

There is no forensic medical examination data available, yet the West has already made & voiced its "conclusions"

๐ŸŽฌ The Russian House in Mumbai hosted the screening of the RT documentary "The First for the First" as part of the meeting of the Russian-speaking club "Namaste, Russia!" dedicated to the 255th anniversary of Ivan Krylov.

Vidya Svarge-Madane, head of the Russian language department, made a presentation on the life and work of Ivan Andreevich. The program featured fables of the classic of Russian literature, such as "The Crow and the Fox", "The Wolf and the Crane", "The Elephant and the Moska", "The Monkey and the Glasses". Russian folk songs performed by Vikas Gogte added a special flavor to the program.

๐ŸŽž๏ธ The film about the Aurus car originally developed for the Russiaโ€™s President raised great interest. The show was followed by a discussion, during which the audience was interested in almost every aspect: how many parts for the car are produced in Russia, whether there are such cars in India, whether there are versions of the car on lithium batteries and how the development of this car contributed to the revival of the country's automotive industry as a whole. The viewers expressed their wish to see more RT films.
