The exhibition showcases works by children of Russian compatriots living in various cities in India, as well as drawings by children from the Mala Smriti orphanage in the capital, who are cared for by the Indian Association of Russian Compatriots.
The young artists told about their paintings depicting their dreams. It is interesting that many of the orphans, who have been taken care of by Russian women for years, dream of travelling to Russia, seeing snow and meeting Father Frost.
All participants of the exhibition were awarded diplomas and sweet New Year gifts.

🎁🎄 On December 22, 2023, more than 200 gifts as well as warm clothes and blankets were donated to students of the Delhi Kamal Nayan Slam School by Russian compatriots living in India.
Earlier, the Russian Embassy in India hosted a children's charity fair “Carousel of Good” organized jointly with the ANO Center for the Development of Socio-Cultural Relations “Atlas”. The respective revenues were used to purchase those gifts for Indian children.
The kids also saw a New Year's performance in Hindi with the participation of the Father Frost and the Snow Maiden prepared by the “Russian House Foundation” and “Atlas” associations, which plan to hold similar events annually.

During the discussion with the participation of more than 30 media representatives, Sameep Shastri, Vice Chairman of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry, underscored that such events should be organized annually in each country of the association, pointing out that they help promote business.
Among those who also shared their positive emotions from visiting Moscow were President of the Fashion Design Council of India Sunil Sethi, President of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India Rajesh Masand and popular Indian actress and fashion activist Aishwarya Sharma. They all agreed that such a format of cultural diplomacy within the BRICS+ framework is in high demand.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at the General Meeting of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO (December 22, 2023)
Read in full
💬 The outgoing year was not an easy one for #UNESCO. As we know, after the beginning of the special military operation, the collective West began to intensify its efforts to politicise the organisation, and reduce its agenda to Ukraine.
Their notorious double standards are reflected in regular anti-Russia resolutions on Crimea and Ukraine. The West is pushing through these resolutions by twisting the arms of the developing nations.
These resolutions go beyond UNESCO’s mandate. It has no competence in this area.
❗️ Attempts to defame Russia for “destroying Ukraine’s cultural heritage" without citing any evidence are in the same category. Such evidence simply does not exist. Nor does UNESCO have any right to attribute guilt. <...>
At the same time, we still haven’t heard any statement condemning the act of terror at the Moscow Kremlin, a world heritage site. Nor has UNESCO Secretary-General Audrey Azoulay from France denounced the murder of Russian journalists although this is her direct mandate.
<...>
But the attempts to “cancel” Russia in UNESCO did not achieve the desired effect. As President Vladimir Putin noted at the St Petersburg Cultural Forum last November, in UNESCO we are conducting very serious projects that generate widespread interest in the world.
I will emphasise again that we are not closing ourselves off from anyone.
<...>
Overall, we have accumulated a wealth of positive experience to build upon. Frankly, a mutually beneficial professional dialogue in UNESCO is still possible despite the blatantly unlawful actions of its Secretariat’s senior officials.

Forwarded from Russian House New Delhi
Those who believe in Father Frost and not so much anymore came to the Russian House in New Delhi on New Year's Eve to check whether this kind greybeard really exists. And at the same time - make sure of the verity of the Snow Maiden, Baba Yaga, Snowman, as well as living and real Snowflakes, Fairies, Stars, Blizzard and Flute.
The festive performance “New Year's Adventures of the Snowman”, prepared by artists from the cultural center, was performed for young Russian compatriots and Indian children. Some of them first met the characters of the Russian winter fairy tale and after the performance, in a roundelay at the Christmas tree, they studied the outlandish images with undisguised curiosity, boldly examining their clothes by touch.
The gifts that the children received at the holiday were the most real.
