🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the intended looting of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

💬 As it became known from a recently published report of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, the Kiev authorities are preparing, with support from their Western patrons, an operation to “evacuate” abroad the Christian valuables of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, including the locally preserved relics of Orthodox saints.

❗️ This flagrant act is yet another instance of Vladimir Zelensky’s criminal policy of destroying the traditional foundations of Ukrainian society and the age-old common spiritual bonds between our two peoples. Moreover, this involves not only a banal act of looting of the holy shrine but also the deprivation of the Ukrainian people and the entire Orthodox world of their religious, cultural, and historical heritage.

☝️ It is clear that the Kiev-based neo-Nazis have no use for the interests of the Ukrainian people and Ukraine itself. To line their pockets, they continue selling the country piece by piece, sending its black soil, grain, people, and even human organs to the West.

The Kiev regime’s persecution of priests, monks and parishioners of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church is an important topic of our regular conversations with the heads of the UNESCO Secretariat. Following these exchanges of views, we were given unequivocal assurances that UNESCO was not and would not be involved in the relocation of Orthodox objects of worship from Ukraine and specifically from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra World Heritage Site. As far as we know, Russian journalists have received identical assurances.

👉 Given that it is UNESCO’s international prestige that is at stake, we hope that the Secretariat will be as good as its word. For our part, we will continue to monitor the developments.

Ukraine Admits To Persecuting Christian Church Without Legal Basis

The Ukrainian government is operating in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra without a court decision, stated the Minister of Culture of Ukraine, Alexander Tkachenko.

Talking to the Rada TV channel, Tkachenko said that the government gave the monastery a “Ukrainian identity” without waiting for a court decision or a corresponding new law.

According to the official, transferring the Lavra facilities, which are under the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, to the state is still ongoing.

8 main HEROES of Soviet space exploration

Alexei Leonov spent 12 minutes in open space for the first time in human history. He compared one minute there with one year of training on Earth.

Over these 12 minutes, spent floating next to the spaceship, Leonov’s spacesuit unpredictably inflated, which slowed all his movements. However, he managed to return to the spaceship, despite experiencing heavy g-forces. The chances of death in open space were very high.

When discussing topical issues of bilateral cooperation, they underscored the importance of further consistent implementation of the major joint projects in various areas and noted with satisfaction substantial growth in trade throughout 2022 and in the first quarter of this year.

Ukraine Weapons Used on French Police?

Reports have emerged that rifles made by Accuracy International, sent to Kiev's military, have been recovered from 🇫🇷 'protestors' by local police.

Warnings that only 30% of weapons sent to Ukraine by NATO and allied nations were reaching the frontline were ignored, with 🇺🇸 media forced to take down such reports in 2022.

🎙 Excerpts from FM Sergey Lavrov's briefing on topical foreign policy issues (Moscow, June 30, 2023)

<...>

Question: Recently, there was a parliamentary investigation in Russia into the US biological laboratory activities in Ukraine. Senators and deputies will hold the first meeting of the parliamentary commission to investigate the Ukrainian government’s activities. What’s your take on the importance of this investigation, and what efforts are Russian diplomats taking now and will take next to make sure the results of these investigations reach the rest of the world?

💬 Sergey Lavrov: The first initiative you mentioned – the investigation into the Pentagon’s biological programmes in Ukraine – was widely covered and attracted public attention. We presented this report at the UN and held a special Security Council meeting with China’s support. Other UNSC members from developing regions showed serious concern and mentioned it, to varying degrees, in their statements. This issue is not closed yet.

The Russian Defence Ministry continues to provide the international community with materials that raise serious questions and lead us to believe that the Pentagon has been developing what is commonly referred to as biological weapons in laboratories in Ukraine.

With regard to the second recently announced parliamentary study, it will be led by Deputy Federation Council Speaker Anna Kuznetsova. Of course, we are worried about the children in conflict zones.

I can confirm that all the children currently residing in Russian territory are known, and no one is hiding their names or whereabouts. If these children have parents or close family, they have every right to take them home. This has been done many times: scores of children have returned to their relatives when they turned up.

❗️ Since the Europeans are dealing with the children who are being allegedly forcibly held in Russia, they would benefit from seeing what is happening to Ukrainian children in Europe.

💬 FM Sergey Lavrov: The current events reflect the fundamental transition from centuries-old Western dominance to a more democratic multipolar world with better justice for all.

The West is doing everything it can to resist this trend by devising containment strategies and seeking to suppress its competitors, i.e., anyone acting independently in international affairs guided by their own national interests instead of following the so-called rules imposed by the United States and its allies.

The global majority refuses to live by the Western rules and stands for universal international norms with the UN Charter as their primary source of reference. Our objective consists of fulfilling all the principles contained in the Charter without exception and in full, rather than selectively, and considering their intertwined nature.

☝️ The overwhelming majority of nations share this view.
