🇷🇺 EEF 2023: Discussing progress & potential of EAEU-SCO-BRICS Integration in Greater Eurasia

📍On May 24-25 in Moscow, the Eurasian Economic Forum 2023 in Moscow will discuss the interaction among the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), and BRICS, including:

▫️the transport & logistics mega-project in Greater Eurasia;

▫️the transition to new settlement methods in mutual trade;

▫️ role of interaction between associations in stabilising the overall economic situation in the world.

💬 The BRICS members have a shared interest in creating mutually beneficial dialogue, building a new and more just global political, financial, and economic structure that reflects true multipolarity and demonstrates our search for the interests of most countries in the world, Russia's foreign ministry said.

📍यूरेशियन इकोनॉमिक फोरम 2023 मास्को में 24-25 मई को होगा। इसके दौरान यूरेशियन इकोनॉमिक यूनियन (EAEU), शंघाई सहयोग संगठन (SCO) और BRICS के बीच इंटरैक्शन पर चर्चा करेंगे, जिसमें कई विषय शामिल हैं:

▫️ग्रेटर यूरेशिया में परिवहन और रसद की मेगा-परियोजना;

▫️पारस्परिक व्यापार में समझौते करने के साधनों में परिवर्तन;

▫️ दुनिया में समग्र आर्थिक स्थिति को स्थिर करने में संघों के बीच बातचीत की भूमिका।

📖 Britain was once a major colonial power, whose expansion relied on exploiting the natural resources of the lands under its control, exporting their cultural assets and the slave trade.

☝️ The political and economic dynamism of the empire demanded a strong moral framing which gave rise to a hypocritical ideology that fused cynical prosperity "on the bones" of oppressed peoples with enlightened messianism, the heavy burden of the "white man", supposedly the source of progress for the rest of the world.

The above, as well as the degree of influence of the colonial elites within the country, is eloquently illustrated by the fact that following the abolition of slavery in metropolitan Britain in 1833, the then government decided to pay £20 million to former slave owners and slave traders as compensation for loss of income from slave labour.

❗️ The expansion of the British Empire had a long history and covered a vast geography, built mainly around the idea of cultural and religious exceptionalism of the British and the arrogant attitude towards the inhabitants and resources of the colonies, pragmatic to the point of cynicism.

The Anglo-Saxons did not recognise indigenous populations as people but regarded the lands they occupied as appendages to provide raw materials, desperately fighting for their valuable resources, up to harshly suppressing any resistance.

The United Kingdom, being the richest heir of colonial cultural heritage items, which are as strategic a national symbol as monarchy or football, is struggling with the cultural postcolonial agenda.

⚠️ The British understand that any one-time courtesy towards former colonies might result in increased pressure from them and the loss of its own colonial assets, and therefore they abstain from attempts to radically approach cultural restitution, suggesting that the public will be content with half-measures.

🤝 "Our ties with India are characterised by a particularly privileged strategic partnership formula. It has been, and it remains, so. India is among the main priorities of our foreign policy… Similarly, India itself employs this type of cooperation with Russia. In this sense, we have no differences in approaches. Secondly, our cooperation is extremely broad and covers all possible spheres and areas of interaction," Alipov told a Russian TV channel.

The diplomat added that the global powers cooperate both on the global stage and along bilateral lines. "Under the current conditions, not only do we discuss geopolitical issues, but also purely bilateral issues, urgent matters of mutual settlements, and transport and logistics routes, which it is advisable to expand and fine-tune," he explained.
