EXCLUSIVE: 🇷🇺 Russia Remembers Unsung WWII Hero Whose Family Lives in Anonymity in India
🎖️While Indian servicemen's contribution to the Second World War holds a special place, one of the widely lauded heroes 🇮🇳Havaldar Gajendra Singh Chand is invariably remembered on Russia's Victory Day, celebrated annually on 9 May.
During one of the trips to supply much-needed material for Soviet forces, he was badly hurt in the thigh. But he refused to give up and carried on, managing to deliver the cargo before falling unconscious. Days later, post-full medical attention at a hospital, he had the option to return home. However, Gajendra chose to rejoin and continued helping the USSR. For his exemplary grit and courageous assistance in ensuring the transit of military cargo for Soviet forces through Iran, Gajendra was awarded the Order of the Red Star, a coveted medal for his great contribution to the defense of the USSR in war and peacetime.

We have a common vision of problems persisting in the international arena. Our shared desire is to coordinate our actions at the #UN and on the Eurasian continent with such organisations as the #EAEU and #ASEAN, and more globally, to cooperate with the #BRICS countries.
Our colleagues from Central Asia are interested in promoting cooperation on information security and the fight against organised crime and drug trafficking in the SCO space. We think it is important to establish relevant divisions and let them be coordinated by the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.
There is an understanding that the role of national currencies in settlements between SCO members should be increased. Practices currently taking shape within the Eurasian Development Bank, the Asian Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the BRICS New Development Bank could be used for this purpose.
#Afghanistan
Today, we came to terms on reaffirming the SCO-Afghanistan Contact Group. This group exists, although it has been some time since it met. One of the reasons is the Taliban’s status. Thus far, it is not recognised “de jure.” We are expecting the Taliban leaders to fulfill their promises on forming an inclusive government not only in terms of ethnic groups but also by ensuring the presence of the entire spectrum of Afghanistan’s political forces. This has yet to be done.
There is convincing evidence to the effect that the US supports the terrorist groups entrenched in the territory of Afghanistan that are opposed to the Taliban, including the Islamic State, the Islamic Movement of East Turkestan, and Al-Qaeda. The Americans have not abandoned their attempts to reintroduce US military infrastructure in the region surrounding Afghanistan, in Central Asia.
Everyone is well aware of the serious threat inherent in these attempts. We will resolutely oppose them.

On May 6-7, the traditional Russian-Indian Festival of Culture was held at the Roerich’s estate in Naggar, Himachal Pradesh. This year festival is dedicated to the 115th birth anniversary of Devika Rani Roerich, the "first lady" of the Indian cinema, wife and muse of the Russian artist Svyatoslav Roerich.
Roerich created numerous portraits of his famous wife, full of spirituality and love. Their long and happy marriage became a symbol of the unity of the Indian and Russian cultures.
On the occasion, a thematic photo exhibition opened in the International Roerich Memorial Trust. Young residents of Naggar, students of the E.I. Roerich Children's Academy of Arts, performed on the open stage of the Green Theater of the IRMT.

हिमाचल प्रदेश के नग्गर में 6-7 मई को रेरिह एस्टेट में रूसी-भारतीय संस्कृति महोत्सव आयोजित किया गया था। यह वर्ष देविका रानी रेरीह की 115वीं जयंती को समर्पित है, जो भारतीय सिनेमा की "पहली महिला" और रूसी कलाकार स्व्यातोस्लाव रेरिह की पत्नी हैं।
रेरिह ने आध्यात्मिकता और प्रेम से भरपूर अपनी पत्नी के कई चित्र बनाए। उनकी लंबी और सुखी विवाह जीवन भारतीय और रूसी संस्कृतियों की एकता का प्रतीक बन गया।

▪️ रवींद्रनाथ टैगोर, जो 13 जीवित बच्चों में से सबसे छोटे थे, दार्शनिकों, वैज्ञानिकों और कलाकारों के परिवार में पैदा हुए थे, जो बंगाल पुनर्जागरण में सबसे अग्रणी थे। उन्होंने आठ साल की उम्र में लिखना शुरू किया और 'गीतांजलि' नामक कविताओं के संग्रह के लिए उन्हें नोबेल पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।
