❗️Global South & East see Russia as Reliable Partner - 🇷🇺 FM Lavrov
Speaking at the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund Trustees Meeting, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told attendees that the West uses Ukraine to "defeat Russia", however the national economy and social system has been resilient:
📍500-year-old colonial mentality created era of Russophobia that is shared by small number of countries.
📍West wants to retain hegemony over world
📍Global South & East countries understand place in future world order depends on outcome of current crisis
📍Despite anti-Russian statements in UN General Assembly, we have a lot of friends across globe
📍Vital that work of Gorchakov fund, in promoting diplomacy, operates efficiently

The current world order is undergoing tectonic changes. The model catering to the interests of the so called “North” as a result of colonialism, has ceased to exist. The world structure is transitioning to multipolarity and a more equal distribution of power. Read more in the article by Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov published in the Indian Express newspaper (March 30, 2023)
Key points:
🔹 The "non-Western world" (or "jungle", in Josep Borrel’s Freudian slip) is again, albeit more nicely this time, being put in a subordinate position. The West is obviously unable to accept the main principle of the UN Charter – sovereign equality of nations.
🔹 The G20 FMM held in New Delhi on March 1-2, 2023 reaffirmed the primacy of multilateralism, the central role of the UN, and the need to increase contribution of developing nations in the decision-making process. India’s constructive approach was instrumental in formulating the key topics of the agenda in a balanced manner. There is a consensus on all of them except one. That is because the divisive Ukrainian issue belongs in the UN, not on the G20 agenda.
🔹 The G20 traditionally is the leading forum for the international economic cooperation as was fixed in the joint statement following the Summit in Pittsburgh in September 2009. It should remain focused on global economic and social problems. Throwing in the Ukraine issue will lead to its failure. Russia doesn’t want that, as it doesn’t avoid discussing the issue in the UNSC. G20 agenda should not be hijacked by a subject which is not part of it.
🔹 Russia is committed to work closely with the Indian Presidency and participate actively in all G20 ministerial tracks to contribute to a successful summit in New Delhi. We aim at working together with India in a result-oriented manner, and are ready to show the maximum possible flexibility.

⚡️ Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova regarding WSJ reporter Evan Gershkovich getting caught red-handed.
💬 What the reporter of The Wall Street Journal, a US publication, has been doing in Yekaterinburg had nothing to do with journalism.
Unfortunately, this is not the first case when foreigners use the status of a “foreign correspondent,” journalist visas and accreditation in our country as a cover-up for undertaking actions that are not related to journalism.
And he was not the first Western national to be caught red-handed.
