#Lavrov: Naturally, India is one of those countries that not only claim, but are the essence of the emerging multipolar world as one of its most important poles.
The same can be said about Brazil when it comes to how to reflect multipolarity within a reformed UN Security Council. In recent years, India and Brazil have been promoting their applications to join the UN Security Council together with Japan and Germany, which is a sign of multipolarity. A G4 group of sorts.
We see what added value India and Brazil can bring to the UN Security Council knowing their stances on global and regional issues.
We do not see any added value in accepting Germany or Japan as permanent members of this UN body. We have not seen any policy differences between these countries and the US and NATO over the years.
The same can be said about Brazil when it comes to how to reflect multipolarity within a reformed UN Security Council. 🇷🇺🤝🇮🇳 Delegation from the Novgorod region, headed by Governor Andrey Nikitin, have completed its working visit to India.
In several days, Novgorodians held a number of meetings with Indian colleagues engaged in business, nuclear industry, science and education. They also visited the Kudankulam NPP - Novgorod enterprise “Splav” supplies fittings to the construction site.
Representatives of seven Novgorod enterprises had very productive discussions with their potential partners, while Novgorod State University formalized an intention to cooperate with the University of Kerala (click for details).
In several days, Novgorodians held a number of meetings with Indian colleagues engaged in business, nuclear industry, science and education. They also visited the Kudankulam NPP - Novgorod enterprise “Splav” supplies fittings to the construction site.

Summing up the results of the trip, Andrei Nikitin noted mutual interest of the Russian and Indian sides to establish cooperation and jointly develop interaction in various socio-economic spheres.
“Each of the Novgorod entrepreneurs who came here with a mission have found an Indian partner for cooperation, and more than one. Upon returning to Veliky Novgorod, we will continue to cooperate with new contacts. Together with our Kerala colleagues, we agreed to build cooperation in business, education, and environmental issues. University of Kerala is seriously engaged in radio electronics. Our university has the same specialization. I think that important scientific and educational contacts and student exchanges await us in near future. There is also an interest from the Indian side to train doctors, and at our medical faculty we can assist with that,” - Andrey Nikitin emphasized.
Novgorodians are confident that the partnership with the Indian side would be very fruitful and are ready to expand the scope of interaction.
“There are specific areas that are equally relevant and mutually beneficial for both sides - medicine, radio electronics, joint scientific developments, as well as the creation of joint ventures and products that we currently lack. For Novgorod companies in almost all industries, the time has come for growth and development,” - the governor said.

🗓 On December 11, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) marks its 76th anniversary.
In the course of its history, the fund has come a long way from a temporary emergency programme to the key organisation in the UN system related to child protection and development. In particular, the fund deals with the issues of maternal and newborn health, early childhood development, children’s nutrition, education, and mother and child care in emergency situations.
🇷🇺🤝🇺🇳 Russia is committed to the progressive development of cooperation with the fund. Our country is a member of the UNICEF Executive Board, the organisation’s governing body. Together with the fund, we implement projects to develop education in Syria and Belarus. In 2021, the Russian Direct Investment Fund and UNICEF signed a long-term agreement on the delivery of the Sputnik V vaccine.
The relations between Russia and the fund reached a new status after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Russian Federation and UNICEF in 2019. The document was designed to bring the cooperation between Russia and UNICEF to a strategic level.

Ukraine Shells Holiday Camp with US-Made Missiles - Governor
Ukrainian forces launched a barrage of rockets towards the city of Melitopol Saturday night, hitting a hotel and restaurant complex, according to the acting governor of Russia’s newly incorporated Zaporozhye Region, Evgeny Balitsky.
The missile strike – supposedly carried out by US-made HIMARS - hit the outskirts of the city and “completely obliterated” a small recreation centre, killing and injuring patrons and staff, Balitsky said in a Telegram post.
Two people were killed on the spot, while another ten were rushed to hospitals, the official added. At least three of the victims are reportedly in critical condition.
