☢️ Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (#ZNPP):
Since the evening of September 12, Ukrainian forces have been attacking the training centre at the ZNPP (managed by Rosatom). More than 10 UAV attacks have been recorded so far.
According to preliminary information, there have been no casualties. The extent of the damage is being assessed.
❗️ The risk of further attacks remains high.
The training centre provides instruction and practical training for plant personnel, including drills for abnormal conditions and emergencies. It forms part of the plant’s safety system: specialists must regularly maintain their skills and be ready to act precisely and in coordination in any situation.
Strikes on a facility used to train nuclear plant personnel therefore target both infrastructure and a component of the nuclear safety system.
The situation at the plant remains under control. The plant’s operational safety remains assured. Radiation levels are within normal limits.
Further information on the consequences of the attacks will be provided as the facility is inspected, once the threat of further attacks has subsided.
